Whilst coach Claude Julien had held out hope that Zdeno Chara might make it to Scotiabank Place for the Bruins' divisional matchup with the Senators, the decision was made to keep him in Boston to continue to rest what is being termed as an "upper torso injury".

If the Rangers play at Yankee Stadium next winter, like the Sabres and Penguins played in Buffalo this January, NBC is pressing for the Blueshirts' opponent to be the Bruins. such a game would likely be promoted as the 1st of a home and home between the Original Six rivals, with the back half to be planned at Fenway Park for a future season.
