Here's a complicated one I'm trying to work out in my head. I'd really appreciate your thought.

Bare with me:

To PHI: J. Hiller $4.5 expiring contract, M. Raymond $3.15 1 yr remains, B. Bollig $1.25 1 yr remains. Total= $8.9 mil, 3rd rnd conditional

To CGY: RJ Umberger $4.6 1 yr remains, L. Schenn $3.6 expiring contract, M. Neuvirth $1.625 1 yr remains. Total= $9.85, 1st rnd protected (1st overall only)

Benefit for PHI they save $1mil remainder this yr and $4.4 mil on next year. They need to chip away that cap to improve. Moving Schenn allows a spot for Ghost.

Benefit for CGY they have a signed #1 G for next year at a great deal, a likely high 1st and possibly another pick for Schenn at the deadline. If PHI wins the 1st overall, CGY keeps the 3rd and PHI 1st defers to 2017.

Whew. Thoughts?

Sorry, realized as I sent, PHI doesn't save $4.4 next year, they save almost $2mil.

I like this but I think the flames need to give a better forward like Jones rather then bollig.

@Flamesfan123: I was considering 2 things. 1. Balancing the cap for both teams for this year and next. 2. Providing enough flexibility for both teams but making sure the savings for next year was significant enough to be of interest to the Flyers while still allowing CGY to sign Monahan, Gaudreau and other pending free agents. PHI has less than $1mil in cap space this year, so Jones wouldn't fit without us taking back more.

Absolutly zero chance Philly would be adding thoer 1st round pick in that deal, are you crazy? Even is its protected, no chance.

No way Philly adds that first. A 2nd 2016 at the most, and why does calgary need a rental dman?
