So in my opinion shattenkirk wants to go to rangers. And i think they should pursue him now instead of in the off season in free agency so this won't be a rental trade.

Blues: Shattenkirk

Rangers: Miller + 1st + Skjei

Definitely fits what Blues want in return if he's not a rental. Just hopefully the cap would work out if he signed for 6mil.

Sadly enough I think he might get more than $6M a year. He has said he wants to go to north eastern states basically. Boston, NYR and Philly are the teams I think he's after. The only way he gets more than $6M is if there is two teams that want him. If only one of those teams want him there isn't a "bidding war" then he might not get offered more. Will be interesting tho. I don't think he's worth $6M a year especially for 7 years.

I think that's too much and just overall not a smart move. I read Skej is playing well and is only going to get better. When's the last time a player got that kind of return? I just don't see it but you never know.

Some executives have said Shattenkirk isn't even a top 4 because he is so bad 5on5 and defensively. I still think he is a second pairing myself, but isn't very good 5on5 or defensively at all. Yes he puts up points but still not worth $6M a year for 7 years. Maybe $6M sure, but for like 3 or 4 years. Not 5-7 years. $5M 6/ 7 years sure maybe. Not more than $6M for more than 5 years. But he will get it on the open market as most Top UFAs get overpaid as we know.

For extended yeah that's a good offer, but shattenkirk should 100% not make more than 6mil. He's not an elite defender he's a one way power play specialist. If you look at defenseman making over 6mil they are all bonified all stars. Shattenkirk isn't. He's good but he's one dimensional. Some gms think he's a 4-5 dman. I don't agree but.
