Leafs get Vegas to select Dumba and Manson. They then trade JVR, Carrick, 2017 and 2018 1st to Vegas for them.

Gives Vegas 2 more 1sts and they could also trade JVR for futures come deadline.

For leaf fans who don't want to give picks, you are getting 2 nhl top 4-6 right hand shots who are both very young.

I wouldn't give Jvr and 2 first for Manson and Dumba. Vegas would have take bad contracts off our hands to get those 3.

Why wouldn't you give JVR and a couple 1st for 2 good young dman.
IMO JVR was invisible in the playoffs.

I'd do it from the leafs perspective. I'd obviously like to pay less, but you got to pay to get young good D. But it's 17th overall this year and you hope a later one next year. I don't think leafs need to push JVR out, but at the same time he's the logical forward to go. One year left at 4.25 is appealing to other teams and he's going to ask for a 6-7 year deal at more than 6mill which makes no sense for the leafs to do with the crop of forwards needing raises in the next 2 years. Carrick has a chance of being a decent nhler but he will be burried if you trade for two better RHd, so send him to give him a chance somewhere else.
