OTT trades their '17 1st (28) to Vegas for them to not take Methot or Claessen.

In that case the next most likely candidate would be Wideman or Ryan.

Iam much more comfortable with loosing one of those two. And their production could be matched by a Free Agent signing.

I would love to see Oshie on the sens but i'm not sure if he would. I heard there was rumblings about him resigning w Caps.

Or, If Wideman is taken. Someone like Franson or Stone would be a nice fit. But we also have Thomas Chabot coming up.

I would love to see these lines next year :

Hoffman - Pageau - Stone
MacArthur - Turris - Ryan/Oshie
Stalberg - Brassard - Dzingel
Burrows - Smith - White

Methot - Karlsson
Phaneuf - Stone/Franson
Chabot - Ceci

Anderson
Condon/Hammond

I like that.

But I feel like we need to add a star forward instead of a defenceman.

Sens could deffinetly use a a good forward. I think Duchene would be a good fit. anyway they can make a trade with Colorado, not at the expense of Chabot?

Montreal set the market here. if they want Duchene it would be Chabot ++.

To be honest I don't think Dorian did himself any favours when it comes to the Sens and UFAs. Phaneuf waived his NTC to go there, was a good soldier for them and had a great playoff, then they ask him to waive for Vegas and when he uses his right to say no, they release it and make him the villain. Try to trade him. Ottawa has never been a destination high on UFAs lists to begin with (hence the contract they had to give Ryan to stay) but how they handled that isn't making a guy like oshie any more willing to commit 5,6, 7 years to a team that treats guys that way. Sens are always going to have to get their best players from within (stone, Hoffman, Karlsson etc)

Other teams asked guys to waive, but did it quietly, or kept the responses quiet at least and respected that the player earned that right and earned that contract. Player's talk and Player's watch how management staffs handle things like this.

Chabot will be worth way more than duchen in 1,2 years so no Thunder Turkey.

Honestly it comes down to the owner/ management group in Ottawa. Melnyk is a grade A f**kwit and I'm not much of a fan of Dorion either. Ottawa will never be successful as a franchise so long as Melnyk is the owner.

How do you attract good players when you turn your fan base on a guy for wanting to stay?! Lol it's idiocy at it's height. Coyotes ownership, and how they handled the doan news yesterday must watch too much Sens business.
