Columbus already had a solid top 4 D in werekski, jones, Johnson and savard
and JVR can be a good top 6 winger who could play with wennberg and panarin

Leafs replace JVR role with marleau and get a top 4 defencemen

I think JVR is more valuable than Murray and also Toronto would be better if trading it for a RHD than an LHD.

Columbus has no need for top-6 LWs. We already have Panarin, Foligno, Jenner, and Calvert with Dubois looking to push for a roster spot. What we need is a top 6 centre, and with Murray being our most prized trading chip, I can't see us parting with him for someone who isn't a centre.

Aren't he leafs looking for a RHD? I mean I honestly don't think Murray would take a spot from Reilly or Gardiner right now, so trading JVR for a 3rd pairing dman for them seems rather odd.

Guys its 1 year of JVR. he's a great player but he's not getting a great long term player.

Only way leafs take a LHD is if they are far better than rielly, Which Murray is not. Rielly, gardiner, hainsey on the left. Zaitsev then a big drop off on the Right. Save jvr for the player they need.

Dont really think Calvert is a top 6 winger. he's a bottom 6 guy.

Also, even if value is there, Leafs don't need a LHD.

But still imo, I think Murray > JVR based on xontract status and position.

Not a good fit for either team as mentioned above.
CLB are intersted in a center like Duchene and Tor should go after a top 4 RHD to play with Reilly.

Yup-Rielly is on the 1st pair so they'd need a top 2 D not top 4. They already have Zaitsev.
