Panthers have made some questionable moves. But I think they're just wanting to rid of salary on this one. Maybe they want to set up for a bigger move maybe during season or deadline?

I think they wanted to clear cap like Yup said above and also Ian McCoshen looks ready for full time so maybe Demers became expendable with McCoshen's arrival.

Wow the Coyotes really have a solid defence now:

Ekman-Larsson - Hjalmarsson
Goligoski - Demers
Chychrun - Schenn
Conouttan - Clendening

They may not make the playoffs this year because their forwards are real young but come 2019 this is a playoff team.

Demers and Goligoski played great together in Dallas, Arizonas D looks really nice.
