Lupul apologized and took his leafs cheaters comment down and said he would not be looking for a second physical from outside the organization.
A rumor came out that he apologized so fast because the Leafs have some crazy dirt on him that they would release.

New rumor and now has been confirmed is that the league itself will investigate into this themselves. Could be major major conaoqiences to the Leafs if he is deemed healthy to play.

I think the whole situation is overblown.

I think he apologized quickly because he realized his comments were solely anger related. physicals don't just test a players 'healthiness' as related to injuries, they also test the players healthiness in terms of game shape.

Looking at Lupul, he looks like he enjoyed himself over the year and did not care about training/ routines. He lost his fitness basically. He may be free of his injury, but he also may have not been phyiscally fit/ adequate to play.

That's pretty much copy and pasted from Jon Shannon and Elliote Friedmans separate comments.
I myself think Lupul is healthy enough to play, and so do some of the other analyst who work in the NHL.

He may have screwed the leafs and himself by being a thin skinned whiner. Any person, especially a celebrity is going to get negative comments when they put themselves out there on social media. Now by responding leafs could face penalties and if he's deemed healthy to play, his free rose of golfing and fishing in Cali for 5.25 mill is going to be 20 hour bus trips to Texas and Iowa with the marlies for the same wage.
