Isles Goalie and Defence Solutions:

Option 1 -

Islanders Trade:
(RW) Cal Clutterbuck
(G) Jaroslav Halak
(LW) Joshua Ho-Sang
(RW) Michael Dal-Colle
2018 1st Round Pick (Top 10 Protected)

Cap: Appx. 9 Million

Red Wings Trade:
(D) Mike Green
(G) Jimmy Howard - 15% Retained
(C) Luke Glendening
(D) Luke Witkowski

Cap: Appx. 11 Million

*Huge trade. Isles upgrade their goaltender, and pick up a dman who can log top 2-4 minutes. They downgrade from Clutterbuck to Glendening in terms of physicality but save cap space as well. Detroit takes on two cap dumps but makes maximum value of a pending UFA and a decent goalie. Detroit isn't on the cusp of playoffs soon, so its best they start filling up the cupboard. Clutterbuck is a bad contract, however, his deal really isn't monumental when it comes to cap space for Detroit. Tons worse in Detroit than him.

Option 2 -

Islanders Trade:
(C) Brock Nelson
(G) Jaroslav Halak
2018 2nd Round Draft Pick

Canadiens Trade:
(G) Charlie Lindgren
(C) Tomas Plekanec - 25% Retained
(D) David Schlemko

**Not as big of a deal, but still pretty decent. Isles acquire a goalie who is young and has had a pretty good year thus far, as well as a centre to replace Brock Nelson, and a decent dman who is on a good contract, and is a good 4-6 dman. Habs acquire a 2nd, which they could use, as they need picks. They acquire Nelson, who can benefit from a change of scenery after having a terrible year this year, and possibly becomes the number 1 centre in Montreal. If he's just meh, he can be shipped off to any contending team for a pick. And Halak is a cap dump but is a decent backup for Price. And honestly, this move may be for the best for Lindgren, because he's never going to see more than 15-20 starts with Carey in Montreal on that enormous deal.

- tbh, both are unrealistic, but they were just random thoughts. lol. Improvements/ suggestions?

Islanders say no to both. I'm not seeing where that helps them or equal value coming back. The Wings one is horrible for the islanders.

The first one I don’t see a reason why islanders make that and second one I don’t think islanders touch either. Nobody wants plek even if he is retained.

Figured so on the Wings one. Maybe take out Ho-Sang, and add like a 4th or sumtin? Idk.

Habs say no. as do Islanders. Can use Lindgren to get a better return.
Arizona could use a Goalie. lots if possibilities.

Plek is a ufa this summer so I don't think is contract scares any teams@Mcjesus. he's probably worth a late pick if retain to a contender that wants a good 4 line center for playoff. As long as that team can fit him in they're cap for the test of season.

Lindgren ain't getting traded for guys 28+
If Lindgren is traded, it's going to take a prospect.
