They want a young centre with top line potential. Pageau is a good player, a 3rd line centre, could be second line on some teams. They would rather a player less established than Pageau, but at least with the possibility and upside to be a top line centre. The galchenyuk for Reinhart one yesterday I found very interesting.

Ott adds big time. Pageau is older, smaller and has no offensive upside. I don't see why habs would even consider this trade.

Ok get that ottawa may have to add something, sure that's fine and all. but can someone please explain how on earth they would have to add anything close to brown or white on this deal? Because I don't get it.
During regular season he's a bit better than pageau sure but come playoffs he stays the same while pageau amps up his game ten fold, plus it's understandable as pageau is a well above average 3rd line center while Galchenyuk is a below average 2nd liner.

This kind of difference doesn't in any way warrent that big of a return. That's an overpayment worst than the Duchene deal. what has galch really done to be honest?

Most they should give for galch is pageau Paul and a 3rd or 4th and that's it sorry hand fans but that's all he's worth.
