Could imagine Carolina wants a little more to sweeten the deal. However if Wahlstrom is available could see Carolina pulling the trigger.

Why would they pull the trigger though? Hanifin was drafted 5 overall and definitely wasn't a bust he was a really good pick. So why would they slide 2 picks down. he's only 21 year old I don't ger it. If they gain 1 row like the 4th overall it makes sense but no they would take a maybe great player for a guaranteed great player.

Colt because once a players drafted it doesn't matter when they were picked? Theyd do it if they liked a player sitting there at 7 better than Hanifin and wouldn't if they dont. If there is a very good forward prospect left its possible because of D strength and F weakness.

Yeah, doesn’t matter draft position after a year or 2. And if they think they can get a kid as good as hanifin that they like then they would. Because that would buy them 3 more years before they have to pay him as hanifin is going to get a big raise and they already are committed to 3-4 other Dmen long term.

Carolina has weak forwards i'd imagine they’d be extremely happy if they could take Wahlstrom (best sniper in draft) for Hanifin.
