Montreal Trades
Petry

Toronto Trades
FGauthier (AHL)
2nd Round Pick 2019
7th Round Pick 2020

Montreal isn't going for any Cup, Petry along with Price, Weber and Patch are contracts Montreal will be trying to unload and this type of Trade helps both Teams.

Thoughts ?

Second trade is more reasonable but I doubt the habs make it since Weber's out at the start of the season til december. Would mean their right side on defense would be extremely weak

I don't think either of those players will be traded unless they ask to be. It's not like the habs need cap room or anything.

Mustafar don't you want Montreal to be weak if you are them to have the best chance to draft Hughes in 2019 Draft?
It's a full rebuild in Montreal, time to unload older players and there contracts.

I think the real value is somewhere between the 2 offers. Gauthier, 2nd and 7th isn’t enough but I think Gauthier/ 1st/ 2nd is too much.

Bracco (habs probably want someone faster more skilled than gauthier to build with, they already have McCarron) 2nd and 3rd maybe.

Honestly I value Jeff Petry more then Shea Weber in terms of health, bang for the buck ( 5 million for a 40+ point RHd, the big minutes he plays and age ( 29) . If mtl have to trade him hopefully it's for a good center ptospect. Not Nolan Patrick but maybe Michael Mcleoud? Would u guys agree Jeff Petry can fetch a decent amount?

I think he could fetch a b prospect and a pick maybe. Possibly a good prospect but would have to be to the right team that’s pretty desperate to give up anymore than that.
