Considering Carolina gave up 2 good young players for Ferland and Hamilton Toronto would have to include Nylander or Kappy plus.

I think Toronto won't move dermott since gards is gone next year. And I wouldn't trade for a winger that has had 2 concussions this year and doesn't know how.

I think Waddell will come to regret trading Hanifin for Hamilton, and I doubt Dubas will be so quick to repeat the same mistake.

Considering hannafins numbers are way better than hamiltons and he's 4 years younger. I would say he already regrets it. They are stuck with hamilton they overpaid huge no other gm will do the same. Its take a loss or keep him.

I think that it would be more likely the Leafs make this deal if it's Gardiner in the deal. I know he's a UFA and he doesn't have as much value as Gardiner but you could remove Ferland very easily, considering the Leafs really don't need him for what they need on their left ring and the leafs right wing is to strong. Remove the first and I think the leafs would do it and the Canes would consider it. Although it would make next year even worse for the Leafs in terms of the cap. So,
