Hurricanes - Maple Leafs

Maple Leafs trade N. Kadri, A. Johnsson and a 2019 1st Rd pick to the Hurricanes for D. Hamilton and M. Ferlund.

Maple Leafs need grit on both D and at Forward and this trade addresses a team need. Kadri has been inconsistent at times but is a former 30 goal scorjer for the past two years. Johnsson has speed to burn with upside and a 2019 1st Rd pick seals the deal for Toronto

I thought Kadri was a tough player for Toronto. And a good 3rd line center is a must for playoffs. Also matthews hurt a lot so need center depth more than ferland.

I think Hamilton would be a nice add, but not worth losing what Carolina will want.

Is Kadri “tough”? I know he pulled out old man Thornton’s beard, but other than that and a few cheap shots, I nothing stands out that makes me think he’s a “tough” guy.

I think Kadri is a guy you win with. he's had those intangibles that a winning team needs.
Lilegren would be going the other way I believe, or Sandin. And other parts forsure. I just don't think Leafs should get rid of Kadri. he's very underappreciated I think. and he's a pest. teams need that. a guy like that can get under the skin of guys like Hedman, Chara, ect. maybe not tough, but a Royal pain in the ass.

I don't see how he is a cheep shot artist and he has fought before Thornton backes and a couple of others you can't trade naz cause then you create another hole every team has a player that could be a cheap shot artist as you call it.

They haven't had the team like they have now. as for cheap shot artist. so is Marchand. Tom Wilson. , don't tell me ya wouldn't want those guys on your team.
IMO, Kadri is best 3rd line center in the game, and if he was second line, a really good one as well.
Like I said, he plays a game that is a pain in the ass. ya need that in playoffs.

Kadri is a good player but you can’t really deny he’s a dirty player and tends to run instead of answer for his actions. I wouldn’t call him tough just dirty. He’s also one of the guys in the league most known for taking a dive. Still a great overall player just some things I wish he didn’t do.
