* Smith gives EDM a solid 3C and Dzingel is a Winger that is needed.

CAR: Spooner, Lucic, Benning, 2019 1st round pick, Conditional 2019 4th round pick (If Ferland re-signs with EDM ... the pick becomes a 2021 2nd round pick)

* Ferland is a Winger with Gritt that will replace Lucic and Hamilton is the RD the Oilers are missing.

* This also gives CAR a Gritty Wing (Lucic) who needs a change. Spooner who can give them a solid C-man and a good young D-man (Benning).

The first one is a little interesting, but the second one is hot garbage for carolina yikes.

First one could work. Smith's cap doesn't make him appealing hence he'd probably lower Dzingel's value. I don't mind it, maybe just make the 2020 pick with no condition.

Second trade no way. Spooner has relatively no value, Benning maybe gets the 2nd and Lucic nearly fully cancels out the 1st.

I don't think Ferland gets traded anywhere, he seems to be a solid piece in Hurricanes' future plans.
