The reality is 1 player can't win. McDavid will never win a cup in Edmonton. The get 6 premium assists of Quality. McDavid realistically only returns 2x as much as Karlsson. You can disagree. But find another comparison of an trade.

Overpayment for 1 player that's overpaid imo. No salary in the nhl should be past 10 million even that's pushing it. Mcdavid at 12.5 million is not as valuable as you guys think because the team that has him will suck because they can't surround him since he take a quarter or the salary cap alone (exaggeration) . Bottom line personally does 6 pieces are more valuable then 1 Mcdavid.

Kadri and Nylander are nice pieces and would help the Oilers.

Liljegren and Sandin are not far enough along in their development that the Oilers can't ruin them, so they don't help the Oilers too much.

Two late firsts. The Oilers are terrible at drafting even with the multiple first overalls and top 10 picks they've had. So, they would be lucky if they ended up with one marginal NHL player picking late like that.

I think the Oilers would need more young, NHL ready players, than a futures package.
