I think that the Oilers either trade 2 or 3 of their top 7 players to shake up this team and address their weaknesses or trade McD and get a pile of players and picks. If the Oilers were to let it know that McD was on the block they would get better offers tan this.

Makar has potential to be a franchise defenseman.

It’s a good offer for McDavid. These guys crying about a proposal involving McDavid doesn’t make sense. So what if he’s the best player in the world. Edmonton is a team in big trouble. Trading McDavid could be the major turning point and short cut to improving the team, just like trading Lindros turned Av’s fortunes around all those years ago.

Colorado is one of the few teams that has the cap space they can actually afford him too. I don’t think Edmonton can fit all those guys into their roster though. They only have two contract spaces left and roster is full. It would require some serious manipulation and disruption to a team already mired in chaos.

Makar has potential to be a real good defenseman he's going to have to show me a lot more to be considered franchise material. if the oilers could be positive that jost will be a 1st line forward kerfoot will be a 2nd line forward both girard and makar will be top 4 dman and they get jack hughes with that pick who they know will be a top 1st line center. Then yes it's an ok deal. But none of these things are 100% certain.
