I think Ottawa might do this trade:
Ott: Ceci, 2nd, Nick Paul
Colorado: Duchene

1.) 22 Sep 2017 17:10:47

2.) 22 Sep 2017 17:50:36
As a sens fan, I would take this and run. but to be honest, if sakics demands are as high as I believe you would have to replace Nick Paul with a legit top prospect. I'm okay with that as long as the names aren't Chabot or white, and the 2nd would likely have to be a first. otherwise sakic likely holds off, Duchene has this year and next on his contract. not really as much pressure for sakic to accept a low ball offer, yet imo.

3.) 22 Sep 2017 19:27:32
Not enough from sens, at least make the 2nd a 1st and it's not bad but still probably not enough. Nick Paul is nothing special and probably has no value so Ceci and a late 2nd isn't close to Duchene.

17 Sep 2017 00:07:38
Ottawa: Chabot, Brown. 2018 1st

Colorado: Duchene

1.) 17 Sep 2017 02:19:54
ahhh. ya. huge no from sens. like its not even close.

2.) 17 Sep 2017 02:35:45
Take out brown.

3.) 17 Sep 2017 04:04:11
Ottawa says no but Sakic also declines cause he's stubborn.

4.) 17 Sep 2017 04:52:38
Lol. No from Ott. Wow.

5.) 17 Sep 2017 20:40:05
I don't think any teams would offer anything close to this for an old pending free agent.

6.) 17 Sep 2017 20:40:05
no from ottawa? you mean no from col for a bunch of unproven prospects.

7.) 18 Sep 2017 01:06:58
Ottawa would hopefully not do this.

8.) 19 Sep 2017 04:41:36
No great John he actually means no from ottawa in a big way. 2 elite prospects and a 1st round pick is far too much for duchesne let alone 1 of those prospects being Chabot lol. Face it the guy is not mcdavid or Crosby.

02 Aug 2017 01:57:12
Tampa: Killorn
Ottawa: Dzingel, Wideman, 2018 2nd

1.) 02 Aug 2017 03:10:44
No thanks. i'm not taking that 7 yr contract especially for those youngins and a second.

2.) 02 Aug 2017 03:31:57
Id say a bit of an overpayment.

3.) 03 Aug 2017 13:26:08
Ya as Tampa I'd take that in a blink of an eye. i'd probably do it just for Dzingle or Wideman. Killorns deal is decent cap wise but a little long with 6 years left.

4.) 03 Aug 2017 22:49:43
Weren't people saying Killorns contract was designed to be taken by Vegas?

5.) 03 Aug 2017 23:45:40
No. Killorns deal is designed to be traded in a few years. Some people wanted him exposed to Vegas to tempt them and not have to give up a trade to protect others. Yzerman has designed most contracts the same way recently. NTC becomes limited last few years and salary is reduced compared to cap.

18 Jun 2017 18:33:25
Ottawa negotiates with LV to not take methot

Ottawa: 2nd round pick (47th) so that Las Vegas can take another player. Hopefully, they don't pick Claesson.

1.) 18 Jun 2017 19:28:12
you'll need more than a 2nd to make them take someone else on that unprotected list. Partly because Methot is worth a lot more than anyone else they exposed, and partly because they know Methot is worth more to OTT than he is to any other team because of how well the Methot-Karlsson pair has been for the last number of years.

2.) 18 Jun 2017 19:30:06
Who would you want to see go?

3.) 18 Jun 2017 20:51:55
Macarthur or ryan. I think ryan had an off season adjusting to Guys 131 system and will bounce back a bit but he's still a 7 million cap hit. Macarthur i just don't trust simple as that. he's a trooper and i feel for the guy but he's just had 3 to many concussions. Either way vegas will have to be compensated with a first maybe more to take them over methot.

16 Jun 2017 20:45:06
Ottawa and colorado are trying to negotiate a deal prior to the expansion draft. Colorado is believed to be interested in Phaneuf.

Ott: Phaneuf, Brown, 2017 1st (28th)

Colorado: Duchene

1.) 16 Jun 2017 21:51:16
๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚that's funny.

2.) 16 Jun 2017 22:15:07
Would have to add Chabot. and I wouldn't do that if I were Sens.

3.) 16 Jun 2017 22:45:23
Would be more like Phaneuf and a 1st round pick for a 3rd rounder.

4.) 18 Jun 2017 00:31:01
I can see that trade but Ottawa adds so;

Ottawa sends Ott: Phaneuf, Brown, 2017 1st (28th) and Dzingel and Wingels. Definitely not Chabot. Only a Habs fan would suggest that. lol

Colorado sends Duchesne + 2017 2nd.

Vegas has selected to take methot from the sens in the expansion draft.

This is very frustrating from a sens fan since we had the opportunity to trade phaneuf, trade ceci, but instead we lose our second most valuable d man for nothing smh.

Therefore, I hope Dorion doesn't win GM or the year

1.) 22 Jun 2017 03:45:02
And the habs get rid of emelin and I couldn't be happier lol.

2.) 22 Jun 2017 04:58:20
Ya, however woulda been happier if they took Plekanec. And say what ya wnat bout Emelin, but this is the 3rd Dman gone from the team in less than a week. i'm glad we keep Davidson, but. something else has to happen.

3.) 22 Jun 2017 13:18:45
The actual need on defense remains the same as it did since last year. another top pairing dman. this hasn't changed with the moves they have made so far. beaulieu had his chances in that spot and so did emelin. sergachev may develop into one but even he took a step backwards in his development last year. Essentially they got rid of 2 expensive dman that can be IMO easily replaced internally if worse comes to worse. and a prospect.

Ottawa senators 2017-2018 team:

(5th line)

Ottawa defence after expansion draft:

(give away ceci to LV)

Thoughts on the team, free agency and possible trades?

1.) 15 May 2017 00:37:51
Stalberg wouldn't resign if Wingels is there.

I'd 100% rather keep Ceci than Methot. Methot is good no doubt, but Ceci is younger, and his play in the playoffs has made me like him.

As for free agency, I could see Ottawa possibly taking a run at someone like Sam Gagnee for the third line. Him/ Pageau could be interchangable centres. With Dorion at the helm however, I don't really see many major spalshes.

2.) 15 May 2017 01:02:29
Chabot is a LD.
Methot has I think one more year left. I think leave Chabot down in AHL one more year and hopefully then in a year or two Chabot takes the slot with Karlsson?
Chabot/ Karlsson could be so good in two seasons from now. Maybe.
My hope to see anyways.

04 May 2017 00:26:14
Ott: Ceci, 1st 2017
Tampa: Drouin

1.) 04 May 2017 03:52:28
No thanks. If Tampas trading Drouin they need a legit top 4 puck moving RHD. And a good one. Might be able to argue value is there but a late first in a weak draft doesn't help Tampa they need the value in the Dman.

2.) 04 May 2017 11:30:01
Value is not there, imo.
If Drouin goes, a top end D will come the other way. As I said before, Drouin is an elite talent coming through atm. Not even sure I'd give up Johnson for Ceci, let alone Drouin.

3.) 04 May 2017 16:50:39

I think Drouin is good, but I don't think hell get what you think hell get. He may get a Larsson kind of trade return, but I can't see a Lindholm or someone like him moving for Drouin.

4.) 04 May 2017 21:02:08
Hall>Drouin anyways.

Drouin is not elite. He's good probably little better than good. But not elite. Bit biased there.

5.) 05 May 2017 18:00:10
Drouin is definitely an elite talent, that's what I'm saying. Definitely and without any bias whatsoever. He may not play at an elite level consistently yet, I give you that. But no way to take away his elite talent.

6.) 05 May 2017 18:48:27
Very good talent*. Not elite.
Maybe will get to elite, but not as of right now.
I understand he's on your team tho so that would be a little bias coming through saying he is elite.
Hall WAS elite at one point, for two years when he was too 10 in scoring. Now back down to just very good.
Same with Gaudreau, was elite for a year or two now back to jist very good after tbis season
Same with Giroux. Same with the Sedins.
Get where I'm going with this?
Twrasenko is elite. P. Kane is elite. Getzlaf is elite. Stamkos is elite. Tavares is elite.

04 Apr 2017 03:13:04
Sens have not got a win in their last 5 games. What do you guys suggest we do, whether that'd be right now or in the transfer window

1.) 04 Apr 2017 06:32:49
What exactly is the transfer window?

Anyway, there's not much that can be done this late in the year other than maybe a line shakeup, which probably wouldn't do much.

2.) 04 Apr 2017 12:49:40
The sens have been overachieving all year because of a very defensive system and above average goaltending. Their top 4 is basically Karlsson and then 3 #4-5 defenseman. The only guys putting up numbers up front are Stone, Turris, and Hoffman, and they aren't putting up enough for that to be the case.

They need a retool, and should never have traded Zibby for Brassard. Also, Chabot better be ready next year, they'll need him when Methot gets taken by Vegas.

3.) 04 Apr 2017 16:09:51
I agree with McRazzle, they have been over achieving, I thinknthe coach has got the most out if his players and although he won't win, should get some Jack Adams nominations.
The Sens are a mysterious team, and still could upset someone in the playoffs. Andersen is capable of stealing a round.

4.) 04 Apr 2017 16:59:03
they should bring some kids up from Ahl and sit some under performing vets, This may spark some competition for the end of season and maybe into training camp.

5.) 04 Apr 2017 18:09:26
Don't get me wrong, I love the sens and Boucher has done a heck of a job but they have little to no firepower or depth (offensive or defensive) . If Tom Pyatt and Chris Kelly can have regular playing time that should be enough proof. Also, acquiring guys like Burrows (really hate this deal), Stalberg, and Wingels was a sad attempt at adding offense. Especially when Stalberg was gotten for the same as Vanek.

They will never be taken seriously until Melnyk sells the team and a real GM takes over, as Dorion has lost every trade he's made so far (except maybe the lazar trade)

02 Apr 2017 04:51:12
The senators defence looks very weak with all the injuries

Line 1 : Phaneuf---Wideman
Line 2 : Borowiecki---Claesson
Line 3: Jokipakka---Call-up

Before he got traded, I wanted Micheal Stone to reunite with his bro in Ottawa. Would he have worked for Lazar and a fifth.

I would put ceci, change it to a second and put nick paul instead. Thoughts?

But I feel like we need to add a star forward instead of a defenceman.

Method is a shutdown defenceman that play's with grit. I'd be mad if we traded or gave him up in expansion.

Chabot isn't going anywhere. he's the next star in the making. he's averaging in the playoffs over a point a game with saint john sea dogs (18 pts including 5 goals in 14 games) . i'm sorry but sens are going to keep chabot any day if colorado is going to ask for him.
