The reality is that your wrong and the Eberle trade is evidence, the GM can't make the vue more than it is. Do you really believe that he wants to sell for less than he can get? If no one is buying at the price you set - then your simply wrong.

Whys that? The eberle trade I think they did well. They needed to save money and they did that without having to retain anything and they got a good player in return in strome who in my opinion was very much misused in New York, he can play the wing or centre.
You just don't like it cause you look like idiot thinking that Edmonton was going to get a kings ransom for a GOOD player. He did what had to be done. Just like last year, if they didn't trade y'all to get a top 3 d man they wouldn't have made the playoff again. He's doing a good job and I'm not even a Edmonton fan.

Really the meat of the deal is a 2nd Pair dman and a coin tossed into the wishing well in hopes the '18 pick in a better draft year turns into a lotto pick. For a true #1 tender that can help NOW.
If it wasn't such a waste of a draft year. I could understand Bennett + 2017 pick for Merkley could be a bit excessive. but it's moo. doesn't matter what the pick is in '17. anything past perhaps #5 is meaningless. And Calgary gets a coin to toss in that Merkley can exceed BB Bennett.

Trade is reasonable. Average 2nd pair D and picks ( one of no value in '17) for proven #1 tender within the division and a chance to upgrade from a career 3rd liner to a possible top 6 player. Arizona gets a shot at the '18 draft lotto and a 2nd pair Dman for an elite goalie . Oh no . such a terrible trade because someone gets value for a real tender and doesn't accept Calgary's ridiculous low ball offer of a 4th round pick for a tender.

Really? Reasonable? Three first round picks (Bennett chosen fourth overall in 2014) and an elite offensive defencman for a 35 year-old goalies and? That suggestion is so absurd. A mind is a terrible thing to waste. It saddens me to realize yours is already wasted. My advice . he11, I've got nothing more than to change your site handle. Facts.
Nurse is coming off his ELC and is paid much less than Trouba. Trouba will once again be in a salary dispute year after this one where as Nurse would be much easier to negotiate with, and get less than Trouba's making now for a longer duration.
Bitterness still exists between the 2 parties in Winnipeg and both parties probably want to part ways.
Yes Nurse will be a top 4, and yes Trouba's ahead of Nurse right now in experience and skill, but Nurse will be a more cost efficient alternative, with less headaches negotiating and will be a top 4 in the near future.
You're totally OTL suggesting Jesse, or pretty much anything other than strait up goes with this trade based on circumstances above.
I think it benefits both teams.

Nash only has 1 year left where as Ebs has 2. He's only 1.5M more. He'll be gone as a UFA when the cap gets tight year after this with McD. nets a player with a few more years left in him. gives the Rangers a skilled player with a lot of years left for less cap hit than Nash. I know Rangers were looking to move him. Could be a fit for both teams.

and. any pick in this year's draft is a waste anyways. Oil have 2 - 3rd round picks so there's no tears from me to lose a pick in any round this year including the 1st. I get its a weaker draft class than the past few, but I can't believe people saying the picks have zero value. Look back at drafts that are considered terrible and guaranteed you can pick out a few star players that came from them. Someone's pick is going to land on a steal, why not your team? I realize the first and second Round last year was very deep and this years isn't, but to say draft picks are useless is dumb. Why doesn't the NHL just cancel the draft this year? Because nothing good will come from it anyway Lol.

1. Edmonton does not want Strome (poor attitude and poorer faceoff
percentage than the current roster)
2. Edmonton will NOT retain salary, they are in a salary weak
position year after this one.
3. Edmonton will NOT make a deal for a Defenceman prior to the
Vegas draft ( already set up for 7-3 protection)
1st 2nd, AND Pouliot for one of those 3? Ya pass. Better off to keep the picks, let Vegas choose Pouliot, Fayne, or Pakkarinan, ( who are the only real choices Vegas has) Keep Eberle who has a good team attitude unlike strome, re-sign Russel and keep the same team as last year less Pouliot's salary.
Poor trade all around for Edmonton in every facet mbell.
The team is stronger as is.
