Confirmed trade
Penguins trade- Derrick Pouliot
Canucks trade- Andrey Pedan and 4th (think 2018)

Hotguybabes

1.) 03 Oct 2017 20:17:10
Canucks Win this one.

2.) 03 Oct 2017 20:56:17
I mean neither one are impact d-men but Pouliot's got draft pedigree so I guess that's why this is relevant.

3.) 03 Oct 2017 21:59:34
Wtf Pittsburgh.

4.) 04 Oct 2017 00:58:11
Looks like Canucks may have come out on top right now but I just remember all the players that seem to come out of nowhere or other teams wrote off that find Their game again in Pittsburgh or make a name for themselves there. It's not like pouliot was really making it a hard decision to move on from him. I'd say wait a bit and see.

5.) 04 Oct 2017 03:40:18
Pedan just a scraper.

6.) 04 Oct 2017 13:04:09
this is a wash unless pouliot finally puts it together.

7.) 04 Oct 2017 21:27:50
i don't get why pittsburgh did this when they could have picked up pedan on waivers? did they have a deal in place on condition that pedan cleared waivers first so they wouldn't have to put him on waivers again and risk losing him for nothing or something?

With the Smith to Calgary rumours.
ARZ/ CGY

Coyotes trade:

-Matt Stajan

-Daniel Rittich
-Cond. 2018 4th (later of CGY's two 4ths)

Not a rumour, Smith to Calgary happened.

17 May 2017 00:45:04
EDM/ DAL

Oilers trade:
-Jordan Eberle (1.5 Mil retained)
-2017 3rd (STL)

Stars trade:
-Cody Eakin
-Val Nichuskin (Rights)
-2017 1st (ANA)

Hotguybabes

1.) 17 May 2017 02:27:08
Would the stars really have an interest in Eberle?

2.) 17 May 2017 02:29:41
Interesting but I don't see Dallas moving Eakin right now or at least not for a winger. I think they would prefer a D-man instead. However I think it's plausible that Dallas and Edmonton could make a deal with Eberle going to Dallas. Not sure on the return.

3.) 17 May 2017 03:06:11
I like it. however, i don't think Dallas would have to add the first. i think if anything, Edmonton would have to add if the Russian signed. ect.

4.) 17 May 2017 03:12:39
Pretty damn good deal for Oilers.

5.) 17 May 2017 03:16:20
No retain from Edm. He still scored 51 points in a down year. Only two more years left. Maybe 500K retained.
But fed not more than $1M.

6.) 17 May 2017 05:04:32
Eakins top season was 40 points and this season he had 12 in 60. Eberles not the only guy that had an off year, which was over 50 points.
Hard to exactly say what Nichuskins value is but maybe a little more than that third. So if Edmonton was to retain the first is definitely justified.

7.) 17 May 2017 05:23:46
Dallas absolutely should be interested in Eberle. As I said in my previous post, dallas lost eaves, hemsky and sharp so far. Lots of cap space, why wouldn't they want a scorer?

8.) 17 May 2017 11:21:50
@CX. Possibly, I think dallas could really use another top 6 Winger.
@Datsyuk. Don't quote me but think Eakins been surrounded with trade talk for a while now. They have plenty of options at C without Eakin, Seguin, Spezza, Faksa, Shore and Dickinson coming up too although he can play wing. As I said above they could use another top 6, and Ebs at 4.5 is a good deal with them likely losing Sharp and Hudler.
@sosa, ya 1st might have been a bit much, maybe add a prospect? I just thought the retention was a bit from Oil.

So @yup wouldn't do the deal but @Mcjesus would? Interesting.

Thought it kinda made sense for both team so I put it out. The Nuke rights might be kinda irrelevant but idk.

9.) 17 May 2017 13:11:49
Eberle and Eakins are a push. So, if one were to take out these two players, your suggesting the Dallas Stars give up their first round pick and Val Nichuskin for a third round pick. You really need to stop smoking cat-nip.

10.) 17 May 2017 13:52:09
Dallas gives up 3rd overall for Eberle? Ha ha yeah right. The guy has been a good scorer over his career, but his playoff disappearing act and $6MM cap hit is an easy no for Dallas. Edmonton can keep their $6 million dollar man.

11.) 17 May 2017 14:05:40
Read the proposal. The Stars part with a 1st roundr, not a 3rd rounder.

12.) 17 May 2017 15:12:19
ANA's first. And Eberle at 4.5 read the proposal. And how is Eakins and Eberle a push? I thought he had a bad season along with everyone else but 50 points is stil 50 points.

13.) 17 May 2017 15:14:22
Big fat resounding no from Edmonton.
Edmonton WILL NOT retain salary.

12 Points for Eakins as the player coming back. Better off to keep Eberle.
Edmonton laughs at this proposal!

14.) 17 May 2017 15:38:38
I don't mind the deal. But as I've said all along. I don't think Chiarelli will retain on Eberle or Nuge if he trades one. He's a great GM. Oilers will have some cap issues chomping up and he's not going to retain on those two players. Especially $1.5-2M. Maybe $500K on one of them but then the return would have to be a little better and the other team would just say screw it we'll take full salary. Chiarelli is a smart GM. He's not retaining on either of them two.
This return is pretty good for Eberle and a 3rd tho, but no retaining, especially that much.
I'm just putting myself in Chiarellis shoes. He's a lot smarter than us. We can't afford to have retained money on the books with Drai and McDavid coming up.

15.) 17 May 2017 16:41:18
@Yup

But Ebs only got two years left. Retaining salary is only worth it if a team is to retain northwards of 1million per, especially on a 6 million dollar guy.

Honestly, i don't mind the original proposal. Eakin is a good third liner, a first is a first (27 ovrall, not that bad), and you get the rights to Nuke as a wild card.

Basically Eakin+1st for Eberle at 1.5 retained.

dont know how EDM says no tbh.

16.) 17 May 2017 18:08:40
@Nasty No, Eberle the 1.5 MIL retained is worth a lot more then Eakin.
@easyE Learn to read before emberresing yourself bud lol.

17.) 17 May 2017 18:17:40
@TSS pretty much my thoughts/ breakdown is what you said.

17 Apr 2017 08:41:30
MIN/ TB

Wild trade:
-Matt Dumba

Lightning trade:
-Jonathan Drouin

Maybe a small add from Minny? Idk, I think it helps with both teams respective needs.

Hotguybabes

1.) 17 Apr 2017 12:29:51
More the more then just a small add cmon. Drouin is a star in the making while Dumba is a decent top 4 nothing more. Nontheless he isn't what Tampa needs anyways they need a bigger and Stronger puck moving D.

2.) 17 Apr 2017 12:46:20
Wouldn't mind getting Dumba. Would not do it for Drouin. If that deals made i'd jump on the fire Yzerman bandwagon.

3.) 17 Apr 2017 17:47:53
Good points from both of your, even Stanley fro once 😐😳.

4.) 17 Apr 2017 17:51:43
Ok what if Wild added that Kirill Kaprizov guy and TB added a middle-ish round draft pick?

5.) 19 Apr 2017 19:05:59
Nah BJ, Dumba doesn't get you Drouin. If Drouin is ever used in the right way, he will put up a point per game, imo.

6.) 19 Apr 2017 19:56:12
I said the same thing about Yakupov. Maybe not a point a game but he was pretty close playing with McDavid. And no not everyone can get a point per game with McDavid. But yeah it sucks seeing a player with so much skill playing with third liners.

7.) 20 Apr 2017 04:28:07
Sorry Drais 😭.

13 Apr 2017 16:09:34
Would a base of a trade between Carolina and Buffalo involving S.Reinhart and N.Hannifin work? Buffalo could really use a top end LD, Canes the same but up front.

Hotguybabes

1.) 13 Apr 2017 16:43:53
I think its a good base. because of the value of defenseman latley, I think Buffalo would have to add. Sam played Jr in the town i'm from, so i'm somewhat biased, however, he is going to be a really solid NHLer for years. i see him as a good number 2 center, possibly a number 1. but a 2nd line center capable of 60 plus points. Hannifan also has a high ceiling, so with the defensman value, . if say Buffalo adds.

2.) 13 Apr 2017 18:35:23
I could see something around Nuge and Faulk working out before they give up Hannifin.
I'm hoping Eberle, 1st and a decent prospect or other piece could get Faulk. Then just plug Puljujarvi into Eberles spot. Just my off season dream tho. I think one of Nuge or Eb will be traded this off season now and I'm hoping it's not Nuge personally.

3.) 13 Apr 2017 19:34:06
The Canes want to build their D around Hannifin, Slavin, and Pesce. They will definitely trade Faulk before any of those guys. I still think they're going to trade some of their prospects for some good young forwards.

4.) 13 Apr 2017 20:53:18
Nuge or Eberle aren't getting a 1/ 2 def even with a first. They are far from elite, have been in the league for 6 years and make too much $. If the Oil want to pry a top def away, it starts with Drai. It just may be better to overpay a Free Agent or stick with developing.

5.) 13 Apr 2017 21:20:31
Oh. And Hannifin >> Reinhart value wise.

6.) 13 Apr 2017 21:53:03
Borje the oil hater.

7.) 14 Apr 2017 17:40:17
@yup
Oh ya I wouldn't argue with that, Sabres pups he adding a young forward sweetener and pick or something.

My NHL 2018 Draft top 10 - Jan

1. Rasmus Dahlin (SHL) LHD
2. Filip Zadina (QMJHL) RW
3. Andrei Svechnikov (OHL) RW
4. Adam Boqvist (SHL) RHD
5. Quinton Hughes (NCAA) LHD
6. Ty Smith (WHL) LHD
7. Brady Tkachuk (NCAA) C/ LW
8. Oliver Wahlstrom (USNTDP) F
9. Noah Dobson (QMJHL) RHD
10. Evan Bouchard (OHL) RHD
HM) Ryan Merkley (OHL) RHD.

Hotguybabes

1.) 12 Jan 2018 12:37:19
1.) Ryan Merkley has fallen on almost every list or rankings to go 15+ OVR because of his defensive play in his own zone. He loses puck battles, too small, no physicality, deteriorates at first sign of an odd man rush, only tools he has there is stick check and speed to defend/ escape zone, still elite IQ and offense.

2.) I like the Ty Smith/ Evan Bouchard touches
-Bouchard will be one of the most mature Dmen coming out of the draft, had 3 offense filled seasons on one of the best CHL hockey clubs/ program.
-Ty Smith is an almost exact Model of Duncan Keith it seems like, can see him as the Provorov of this draft, really does it all, and brings tons of offense, I see a #1 D man potentially, size may or may not be an issue unless he can put on a few pounds because he’s not tall at 5'11"

3.) I liked you leaving out Kupari/ Veleno
-Kupari had one full chance to impress, regardless of his icetime, he needed to prove he was a top 10 pick at the World Juniors. Even on a WJC platform, ” if he’s top 10 skill” still remains in question after a horrible tourney and we’ve seen this before. Eeli Tolvanen ring a bell?

4.) Tkachuk is too low
-I think he had a good showing at the WJC to all the doubters talking about his lack of offense or slow start to the season, he showed that he brings so much to the table now and is at least a lock for Top 5 for me.

2.) 12 Jan 2018 16:47:50
I have bouchard in my top 5 but overall its a good list.

3.) 12 Jan 2018 18:17:14
Tkachuk should be higher other then that I like it especially Zandina over Svechnikov.

4.) 12 Jan 2018 18:31:15
I would switch Smith and Tkachuk and wouldn't have Merkley anywhere close to the top 10 (he's been a nightmare whenever i have watched him) but asside from that i like the list👍. If you need a puck moving defenceman this is definetly the year to do it.

5.) 12 Jan 2018 19:35:28
On Merkley yes I've seen that. Just he seems super boom or bust more so then prospects in previous drafts imo. I agree he hasn't been good this year. I have Kupari and Veleno as 11-15 guys right now. And very far comments on Tkachuk, seems like he could be NHL ready in his draft year.

Seen a couple people talking about Florida having a disastrous offseason (not just on this site) and that they lost a bunch of top 6/9 forwards (Jagr, Smith, Jokinen etc) but I think they did fine replacing them.

Not super high on the Vrbata signing but he could do well with the talent Florida has already. They brought in both Dadonov and Haapala who are expected to be top 6 forwards. Owen Tippett is reported to get a long look during training camp. Jared McCann and Denis Malgin should both be ready for full time bottom 6 F minutes.

Jayce Hawryluk in the system is a dark horse to make the team as well. Demers for McGinn gives them a good veteran winger who can play up and down the lineup.
HGB's projected lineup:

Huberdeau-Barkov-Dadonov
Haapala-Trochek-Vrbata
McCann-Bjugstad-McGinn
Malgin-Mackenzie-Sceviour
Scratches: Haley and Hawerlyuk

Matheson/ Yandle-Ekblad
Matheson/ Yandle-Petrovic
McCoshen-Pysyk
Scratch: Weegar

Loungo/ Reimer

McCann, Malgin and Hawerlyuk all interchangeable and still got Tippett looking to secure a spot aswell in camp and possibly his 9 game trial. McGinn can play either wing and McCann, Malgin and Hawerlyuk were all drafted as C's giving them some nice flexibility.

Anyways, I think Florida has made some questionable and interesting moves making them a team to watch this season.

Hotguybabes

1.) 19 Sep 2017 12:40:38
Anything can happen over the course of a season I guess. But to me that lineup looks awful.

2.) 20 Sep 2017 13:18:18
Ya that's not great. Vrbata has never played well for a team that's not Arizona. I really don't think you can deny the team seems lost. They were a better team last season than they are now. They just had bad luck/ injuries last year and abandoned their direction mid way through the season of course results didn't come.

3.) 20 Sep 2017 22:01:01
Ya good points, I wouldn't say Smith, and Jokinen were exactly pulling their weight last season, Jagr was probably bound to leave. I see Dadonov and Haapala having strong seasons for Florida assuming they're in the top 6.

01 Jul 2017 10:32:09
Dadonov is coming back to the NHL. Confirmed signed 3 years/ 12 mil with Florida Panthers.

Hotguybabes

1.) 01 Jul 2017 15:34:37
I wonder if that means no Jagr next season in Florida.?

2.) 01 Jul 2017 21:51:41
They still need to sign/ trade for 6 more top 9 wingers.

3.) 02 Jul 2017 06:18:42
So you're saying they have no top 9 wingers. Great observation.

4.) 02 Jul 2017 15:12:09
Dadanov and Huberdeau. They lost Jagar, Jokinen, Marchessault, Vanek and Rielly Smith. They have 4 open spots so yes it is a great observation thank you very much for your input.

Considering Jost has taken a step back this year and Avs 1st doesn't look like it'll be top 10, unless they keep struggling hard, I'd rather have Hubs as well. Guys a stud.

Memarcusjoe has probably not watched Barkov that much. He's just as talented as Schiefele offensively and one of the best two players in the league.
I'd say Barkov >= Schiefele.
