LAK - CAR

LAK: Lee Stempniak

CAR: Jordan Nolan, conditional 2019 3rd and 2018 4th round pick

*Condition if Stempniak puts up 40 points and Kings make playoffs pick is 2nd.

I just noticed Carolina's depth chart and they have Stempniak penciled on the 4th line because of their insane wing depth so they could spare Stempniak and use the picks for a player that won't do much for them.
Kings get a solid wing player who can score decently which we desperately need.

Seems fair to me, and makes sense for both teams imo. Stempniak could be a middle 6 F in LA, Nolan provides some good grit and toughness for a young Canes team. good post.

BOS-DET:

Bos: Niklas Kronwall [4 mil (750K ret) ], Petr Mrazek (4 mil)
Det: Matt Beleskey (3.8 mil), Anton Khudobin (1.20 mil), Jeremy Lauzon (748K), 2018 conditional* 3rd round pick

*If Bruins make playoffs it's a 3rd, if they win a series it's a 2nd and if they miss the playoffs it's a 4th.

Red Wings get a solid prospect and pick and get to part ways w a veteran in Kronwall so the young guys can come through. They also gain 3 mil in space they can use to sign AA.

Bruins get rid of a cap dump in Beleske. They get another top 6 d-man in Kronwall who couldn't use a place like Boston where he has less minutes and pressure than in Detroit. They also get an improvement in goal so Rask doesn't have to carry this team like he did in the first half last year when they couldn't score and the backups were awful.

LAK: Michael Hutchinson

WPG: 2018 3rd round pick

Ik it's not a blockbuster or anything, but the Kings need a backup goalie and Hutchinson has slipped to #3 on the depth chart.

FLA-TOR:

FLA: Jason Demers [3.75 mil (750K ret) ], + 2018 2nd round pick

TOR: Connor Brown (RFA), Marty Marincin (1.25 mil), + 2018 3rd round pick

Originally I was planning on Toronto sending the higher pick, but after listening to Leafs Lunch Craig Button and Frank Seravelli said Florida is willing to retain money and add a pick or prospect to part w Demers. The Panthers are additionally v weak on the RW w trades of Marchessault and Smith. Brown is a good player, but can be replaced by Kappanen in my opinion.
Leafs get a solid top 4 d-man and at 3.75 mil for 4 seasons that's pretty fantastic.

Don't think Toronto would go for this.

2.) 30 Jun 2017 16:48:39
Isn't Demers a cap dump? Doubt teams are lining up to acquire Demers.

3.) 30 Jun 2017 19:21:49
Ducks wanted Connor brown in any trade from the leafs for one of their D and that was one of the reasons nothing got done. Dave nonis drafted him in Toronto and is an assistant to Murray in Anaheim now. He's 22 and had a 20 goal rookie season playing great a 2way game and is one of Babcock favourites. If he is going to be included in a package for a D, it's going to be part of a bigger trade for a legit top pair. Not a cap dump.

Leafs hang up the phone before the Panthers finish talking. Brown > Demers.

DAL - ANA

DAL: Patrick Nemeth (900K) + 2017 4th round pick

ANA: Kevin Bieksa [2 mil (50% ret) ] + 2017 7th round pick

Bieksa's no move clause is going to put Anaheim into a terrible situation for expansion so they need to move him so they can protect Lindholm, Vatanen and Fowler. Obviously he'll need to waive his clause so it may not happen until after the playoffs because he'll probably want to see if he wins the cup this year with Anaheim.

Big news in Montreal WOW. That's a real middle finger to the B's by Julien.

KingsLover

1.) 15 Feb 2017 16:57:47
How is that middle finger to the Bruins. THEY fired him he found a new job. Its buisness.

The Isles finally fire Jack Capuano. FINALLY!

KingsLover

1.) 17 Jan 2017 21:51:37
Now they jus need to fire Snow.

2.) 17 Jan 2017 22:08:51
GM Snow is their problem. Lol.

3.) 18 Jan 2017 02:46:39
Lol yeah, but at least this is a step in the right direction. Needed a new voice begind the bench.

4.) 18 Jan 2017 05:10:42
Agreed, unfortunalty it was fairly obvious Capuano would go before Snow. Hopefully Snow has used his last scape goat tho. Hopefully they Hire Gallant.

Troy Terry and Tyler Parsons. Wow

KingsLover

1.) 06 Jan 2017 19:36:04
Who drafted Parsons again? He is the U. S goalie right? I was really impressed with him in the first U. S/ Canada game on New Year's Eve.

2.) 06 Jan 2017 21:21:13
Calgary drafted him. He was the second goalie drafted in 2016 after Hart in the second round

3.) 06 Jan 2017 22:09:06
Oh nice. Well they must have been happy with his performance.

31 Dec 2016 16:32:58
Do u guys think Brent Burns will eclipse the 30 goal mark?

KingsLover

1.) 31 Dec 2016 18:55:28
Yes he is a beast plays and looks.

2.) 01 Jan 2017 03:56:49
Ya, I think he's one of the most unique players in the game, if not the most. He has free range. I guess he's a dman., but for me he's like a Rover in soccer. he's fun to watch. drives the net like a power forward, mans the point, passes like a big center. .
Was always a decent player never really a star in Minnesota, but kind of a late bloomer.? Cause now he's a dominant player. or was he jus mismanaged.?

Probably has to be a first but yeah I'd do it from an Avs perspective. Who knows if Sakic will take it tho.

That would be worse than when St. Louis traded Doug Gilmour for scraps.

Wow the Coyotes really have a solid defence now:

Ekman-Larsson - Hjalmarsson
Goligoski - Demers
Chychrun - Schenn
Conouttan - Clendening

They may not make the playoffs this year because their forwards are real young but come 2019 this is a playoff team.

I like it, I don't think Johnson is the answer to the Leafs and JVR isn't a centremen but it does make both teams better without them really giving up much. So solid and a realistic trade.
