DAL - ANA

DAL: Patrick Nemeth (900K) + 2017 4th round pick

ANA: Kevin Bieksa [2 mil (50% ret) ] + 2017 7th round pick

Bieksa's no move clause is going to put Anaheim into a terrible situation for expansion so they need to move him so they can protect Lindholm, Vatanen and Fowler. Obviously he'll need to waive his clause so it may not happen until after the playoffs because he'll probably want to see if he wins the cup this year with Anaheim.

LA-PIT

LA: Brayden McNabb, and Jeff Zatkoff

PIT: Tristan Jarry, Cameron Gaunce and conditional 2017 4th round pick.
*condition is that if Pens win cup pick becomes a 3rd.

LA needs to replenish their goaltending depth especially if Quick is going to become injury prone (2 major ones in the last 4 seasons) . Jarry could be a fringe starter, but I see him definitely being a backup in the NHL and a better one then Jeff Zatkoff who's sucked this year. Gaunce translates to be a good bottom pairing player.
The Kings need to move one of McNabb or Forbort before the expansion draft or they'll lose them for nothing. I pick McNabb because he's older, and he has another year of term which teams will like.

Pens need another top 4 D since Maataa went out with injury and McNabb is good at playing with very mobile D-men like Deew Doughty and Alec Martinez, so he should be able to play with Kris Letang or Trevor Daley.

Pens have like $100,000 in cap space I think, gunna be difficult to make any move, I imagine they couldn't afford this deal, Pens have zero use for Zatkoff I'd imagine but solid proposal.

2.) 21 Feb 2017 15:48:35
Pens actually have about $5.1 mil at the deadline due to prorated salaries and IR, so they could easily fit thia.

ANA: Clayton Stoner (3.25 mil) + Julius Nattinen + 2017 2nd (lower of their two)
CAR: Ron Hainesy [2.0 mil (800 K ret) ] + 2018 4th round pick.

Here I updated the trade by having Anaheim add a solid prospecg in Julius Nattinen and a 2nd (albeit the lower of their two because, well it's Ron Haniney) .
So basically the Canes get a a second and a solid propect for Ron Hainsey and taking on a cap dump.
What do u think now?

ANA: Clayton Stoner (3.25 mil) + 2018 4th round pick
CAR: Ron Hainsey [2.0 mil (0.8 mil ret)

I know it's not a blockbuster or anything, but the Ducks get rid of Stoner's cap hit for next year for a pretty similar player at a cheaper price.
The Canes get a player who is much better at possession (he's actually positive) then Hainsey who is pretty awful possession wise.
Thoughts?

KingsLover

1.) 05 Feb 2017 13:05:28
Hainsey is playing big minutes for the Canes. If their taking Stoner back. Anaheim has to give a 1st or a 2nd and a prospect for a cap dump.

2.) 05 Feb 2017 15:33:28
Really VanCity? You think Anaheim's going to give a prospect and a 2nd for Ron Hainsey just because Clayton Stoner is there?

3.) 05 Feb 2017 16:37:04
Yes i do.

Kings need top 6 scoring help so here are some trade proposals to improve them.

CBJ - LAK:

CBJ: Scott Hartnell [3.5 mil (1.25mil ret) ]
LAK: Dwight King (1.95 mil) + 2018 conditional 3rd
*Becomes 2nd if LA makes playoffs in 2017.

The Jackets need to lose a NMC like Hartnell's so they don't lose somebody like Saad, Wenneberg, Atkinson or Jenner to Expansion. King has 2 stanley cups to give the Jackets experience.
Kings get Hartnell @ a retained price because of his age and the fact that the Jackets should be desperate to move out his contract. He could look good with Anze Kopitar or Jeff Carter similarly to how Milan Lucic did.

LAK-NJD:

LAK: Kevin Gravel (667 K), Matt Greene (2.5 mil) and a 2017 3rd round pick.
NJD: P. A Parenteau (1.25 mil) and Kyle Quincey (1.25 mil)

The Devils realistically will probably finish at the bottom of the East by the end of the year and will need to unload both these guys. Parenteau is having a solid season on pace for close to 20 goals again and 40 points.
Gravel looks like a solid top 6 d-man and he's a lot better than almost all the guys on the Devils blueline (besides Greene and Severson) . Plus they get a solid mid round draft pick.

Kings lines after:

Hartnell - Kopitar - Toffoli
Pearson - Carter - Parenteau
Gaborik - Dowd - Brown
Clifford - Shore - Nolan
Setoguchi
Andreoff

McNabb - Doughty
Muzzin - Martinez
Forbort - Gilbert
Quincey

Big news in Montreal WOW. That's a real middle finger to the B's by Julien.

KingsLover

1.) 15 Feb 2017 16:57:47

17 Jan 2017 20:20:36
The Isles finally fire Jack Capuano. FINALLY!

KingsLover

1.) 17 Jan 2017 21:51:37
Now they jus need to fire Snow.

2.) 17 Jan 2017 22:08:51
GM Snow is their problem. Lol.

3.) 18 Jan 2017 02:46:39
Lol yeah, but at least this is a step in the right direction. Needed a new voice begind the bench.

4.) 18 Jan 2017 05:10:42
Agreed, unfortunalty it was fairly obvious Capuano would go before Snow. Hopefully Snow has used his last scape goat tho. Hopefully they Hire Gallant.

06 Jan 2017 04:53:13
Troy Terry and Tyler Parsons. Wow

KingsLover

1.) 06 Jan 2017 19:36:04
Who drafted Parsons again? He is the U. S goalie right? I was really impressed with him in the first U. S/ Canada game on New Year's Eve.

2.) 06 Jan 2017 21:21:13
Calgary drafted him. He was the second goalie drafted in 2016 after Hart in the second round

3.) 06 Jan 2017 22:09:06
Oh nice. Well they must have been happy with his performance.

31 Dec 2016 16:32:58
Do u guys think Brent Burns will eclipse the 30 goal mark?

KingsLover

1.) 31 Dec 2016 18:55:28
Yes he is a beast plays and looks.

2.) 01 Jan 2017 03:56:49
Ya, I think he's one of the most unique players in the game, if not the most. He has free range. I guess he's a dman., but for me he's like a Rover in soccer. he's fun to watch. drives the net like a power forward, mans the point, passes like a big center. .
Was always a decent player never really a star in Minnesota, but kind of a late bloomer.? Cause now he's a dominant player. or was he jus mismanaged.?

02 Dec 2016 14:48:20

McNabb - Brodin

For the most part I see It but from the leafs I think they take rychel over look.

2.) 02 Dec 2016 18:21:36
Yeah I had Rychel originally, but idk what made change it.

3.) 02 Dec 2016 19:29:37
Atkinson would be gone before Jenner and Maroon/ Davidson will be gone before Pouliot IMO.

The whole UFA thing kinda messes me up because the Coyotes have OEL, Goligoski, Murphy and Stone ahead of Schenn to protect. I guess they wouldn't take Stone if they think they can't resign him?

I'm torn on Silfverberg or Fowler. They have internal solutions for losing Fowler and they don't have the greatest forward depth.

They can do better than Hamilton from Calgary can't they?

Orlov would be a good pick as well.

Pens have Letang, Matta and Dumoulin to protect so Pouliot would be exposed. I'm sure they can do better than Fehr.

And as it sits right now they can do way better in net but your options are probably more realistic.

Overall I think your team is pretty close.

4.) 02 Dec 2016 20:17:42
Ebs yeah I guess Atkinson would be gone before Jenner. And I had the Oilers doing an 8-1 thing so they could save Davidson and I kinda imagined the Oilers offering a pick to LV so they wouldn't choose Maroon, which I would do if I were LV because Pouliot isn't that bad and gives u a veteren presence.
I only said Anaheim protcects Fowler over Silfverberg because at least with Fowler they can trade him to get a big package back.
With Hamilton in Calgary I just needed one more player who was under contract in 2018 and I had nobody from them so I chose Hamilton.
Tbh I forgot about Derrick Pouliot oops. Definitely he would be chosen over Fehr. That would mean I would need anpther player under contract for 2018 so I would hust replace Laughton with Matt Read.
These were actually the best guys in net, except for Matt Murray who I expect the Penguins to fight tooth and nail to protect (even if that means buying out Fleury) .

5.) 03 Dec 2016 17:44:52
Jenner scored 30 last year I think he would go.

6.) 03 Dec 2016 22:03:51
Exactly he'd get protected.

7.) 05 Dec 2016 16:10:48
Maroon will be one of the 7 Forwards protected, so Davidson or Pouliot are the likely candidates from Edmonton.

Don't see Plekanic being taken from Mtl. Too big of a salary for not enough return.

Dallas will lose one of it's Goal tending tandem. If not Pittsburgh and Tampa have starting tenders to pick from.

Winnipeg will lose Meyers or Trouba pending ruling on Stuart's No trading clause.
