That's what you go after with kapanen, is a good defender on a down year. Kapanen is not a hot shot winger, If you can get a 2nd pairing defenseman for him, you go for it.

Manson and Savard are 3rd pairing defenceman at best though that’s the thing. And honestly imo Holl is better then both of them.
Holl almost had the same amount of points as those two combined. He is much better defensively and he is younger and going to be on a great contract for the next 2 years.
When you give up a young player, you either expect to get an older guy who is much better, or you expect another young player to be coming your way. That just simply isn’t happening with these trades.

Well no, I or any others weren’t wrong what so ever when they thought Ghost was better than Parayko a few years ago. Ghost had 65 points in 78 games on a playoff team and Parayko had 35 points in 82 games on a non playoff team. Ghost was 4th in league scoring among D man and Parayko has never gotten more than 38 points. He brings other things to the game that I love but to think he was better than the 4th leading scoring D man is kinda funny. i'm not sure why you’re bringing this up, so I’ll admit that I wasn’t wrong back then to think that at all.
