Pit:
RW - Phil Kessel $6.80

LVK:
RW - Tomas Tatar $5.30
LD - Jon Merrill $1.375

1.) 26 May 2018 01:14:37
Garbage for Pittsburgh. Kessel at 6.8M coming off a 92 point season for 2 players that are healthy scratches? Brutal.

2.) 26 May 2018 01:50:02
Oh lord lol.

25 May 2018 00:27:33
With Laurence Gilman being added to Toronto's management team...

Vancouver:
RD - Chris Tanev $4.45
C - Markus Granlund - RFA

Toronto:
RW - Nathan Horton $5.30 - LTIR
LW - Matt Martin $2.50
RD - Timothy Liljegren $0.864
1st Round Draft Pick 2018

1.) 25 May 2018 05:12:25
Not likely, way too early to give up on liljigren. And Horton isn't going to be counted against the cap so why bother trading him. All the leafs need is to trade Martin for 2 tickets to Disney on ice, sign Tavares, then trade nylander for a great defensively responsible defenceman.

2.) 25 May 2018 15:51:51
If I’m trading marring for 2 tickets to Disney on Ice, they better be aisle seats, he still has some value!

15 May 2018 04:08:10
Vancouver:
1st Round Draft pick 2018 (7OA)

Carolina:
LD - Noah Hanifin $0.925 - RFA

1.) 15 May 2018 08:16:25
Could imagine Carolina wants a little more to sweeten the deal. However if Wahlstrom is available could see Carolina pulling the trigger.

2.) 15 May 2018 10:47:53
Why would they pull the trigger though? Hanifin was drafted 5 overall and definitely wasn't a bust he was a really good pick. So why would they slide 2 picks down. he's only 21 year old I don't ger it. If they gain 1 row like the 4th overall it makes sense but no they would take a maybe great player for a guaranteed great player.

3.) 15 May 2018 12:50:02
Colt because once a players drafted it doesn't matter when they were picked? Theyd do it if they liked a player sitting there at 7 better than Hanifin and wouldn't if they dont. If there is a very good forward prospect left its possible because of D strength and F weakness.

4.) 15 May 2018 14:11:58
Yeah, doesn’t matter draft position after a year or 2. And if they think they can get a kid as good as hanifin that they like then they would. Because that would buy them 3 more years before they have to pay him as hanifin is going to get a big raise and they already are committed to 3-4 other Dmen long term.

5.) 15 May 2018 15:46:12
Carolina has weak forwards i'd imagine they’d be extremely happy if they could take Wahlstrom (best sniper in draft) for Hanifin.

6.) 16 May 2018 03:28:54
Colt: would you not say yes to trading to get a top 10 pick if someone offered that for yakupov because he was drafted 1st overall?

06 May 2018 15:35:58
Ottawa:
RW - Gabriel Gagne $0.743
C - Filip Chlapik $0.728

Calgary:
C - Sam Bennett $1.95

Ottawa did pretty well with the reclamation project of Turris

1.) 06 May 2018 22:13:12
Ottawa says no IMO. Chlapik looks ready next year for NHL and looks really promising, as does gagne who led the Binghampton senators in goals this season.

17 Feb 2018 04:18:14
Vancouver:
LW - Loui Ericsson $6.00
LHD - Ben Hutton $2.80

Edmonton:
LHD - Andrej Sekera $6.00
C/RW - Ryan Strome $2.50

1.) 17 Feb 2018 05:44:14
Don't really think Vancouver would do that.

2.) 17 Feb 2018 16:36:56
I wouldn't want anything to do with Eriksson contract.

3.) 17 Feb 2018 17:56:51
Eriksson’s contract is only a year longer than Andrej Sekera’s. I feel that all these players aren’t working out for and all could use a change of scenery.

4.) 17 Feb 2018 20:20:14
Sekera was arguably the Oilers best D man last year and injured for the first half of the season this year.
Erikson has like 20 points this year, played on the fourth line and has one more year and more money than Sekera. Sekera is a lot more important to Edm than Eriksson would be. Again, I don't want anything to do with Eriksson and his contract.

RW - Ryan Spooner $2.825
LHD - Jakub Zboril $0.894

14 Dec 2017 20:59:35
Ottawa:
LHD - Dion Phaneuf $7.00
C - Colin White $0.925

Buffalo:
C - Ryan O'Reilly $7.50
-----------------------------
Ottawa:
C - Derick Brassard $5.00

Pittsburgh:
LW - Carl Hagelin $4.00
LHD - Ian Cole $2.10(retain 50%)

Ryan - Duchene - Stone
Hagelin - O'Reilly - Dzingel
Smith - Pageau - Hoffman
Pyatt - Thompson - Burrows

Cole - Karlsson
Oduya - Ceci
Claesson - Chabot

Anderson - Condon

1.) 15 Dec 2017 08:42:53
No team is touching that Phaneuf contract!

2.) 15 Dec 2017 15:15:54
Correct me if i'm wrong, but although Phaneuf's contract is for $7M, don't the leafs have a large chunk of that retained? I thought he was only around $4M against the cap. I could be wrong though.

10 Feb 2017 20:19:08
If Canucks decide to be sellers at the deadline:

Ottawa:
G - Andrew Hammond $1.35
4th Round Draft Pick 2017

Vancouver:
LW - Alex Burrows $4.50

----

St. Louis:
LW - Nail Yakupov $2.50
3rd Round Draft Pick 2017

Vancouver:
G - Ryan Miller $6.00

----

Montreal:
LW - Jacob De La Rose $0.894
2nd Round Draft Pick 2018

Vanvouer:
RW - Jannik Hansen $2.50

----

+++ CBJ likely to give up the 2nd Round Draft Pick for Tortorella Compensation

D. Sedin - H. Sedin - Eriksson
Baertschi - Horvat - Yakupov
Granlund - Sutter - Megna
Boucher - Chaput - Skille

Edler - Stecher
Sbisa - Tanev
Hutton - Tryamkin

Markstrom - Hammond

1.) 10 Feb 2017 21:48:42
Those players are cheap!

2.) 11 Feb 2017 11:25:18
Hammond? No way man!
Don't mind the Miller and Hansen trades. although I don't want Yakupov in Vancouver. Rather give Boucher the chance or just call up Virtanen. also Boeser should be ready next year and will be a top 6 RW for us so Yak is a no.

14 Nov 2016 23:27:06
As a base:

Vancouver:
RHD - Chris Tanev $4.50

Calgary:
RHD - Dougie Hamilton $5.75

------

Vancouver D:

Edler - Hamilton
Hutton - Gudbranson
Sbisa - Tryamkin

------

Calgary D:

Giordano - Tanev
Brodie - Wideman
Kulak - Engelland

------

Chris Tanev is a Defensive Defensman.
Dougie Hamilton is a Offensive Defensman.

Jim Benning knows Dougie Hamilton very well (Drafted him in Boston) .
Glen Gulutzan knows Chris Tanev very well (Coached him in Vancouver) .

Vancouver has Edler, Gudbranson and Hutton to match up against and fill in defensively for the loss of Tanev.
Calgary has Giordano, Brodie and Wideman that can make up for the offensive loss of Hamilton.

Vancouver needs to add legit top-4 offensive defensman.
Calgary needs to add legit top-4 defensive defensman to match up against other teasm top lines and allow giordano and brodie to have more offensive minutes.

1.) 15 Nov 2016 01:05:15
No way from Calgary.

2.) 16 Nov 2016 19:54:19
I'd say no from Calgary. Not unless Kylington can really speed up his process.

30 Sep 2016 16:11:18

I would rather see the sens package their 1sts together and move up rather than trade down from 4th. That being said I think they should hold tight and use both their first round picks.

Disagree, they need quality.

You did point out Montreal’s “thing”, but Montreal has to give up something in order to acquire assets in a trade. If they don’t the league won’t allow a trade like you have go through. Ottawa and Vegas tried to do that for Derick Brassard and the deadline and the league mixed the deal.

To get the best defensman in the league in a trade under contract at that cap hit long term, ya it would take a package like that. If Tampa wouldn’t want to do that, I get it but that’s what it would take to acquire a player like Karlsson.

I don’t know what you all are talking about. To get arguably the best defensman in the game locked up for 8 years under $10 million. You don’t know what you are talking about.

But you all seem to not notice that Montreal gets Ryan Gourde and Tampa’s 2nd for nothing.

Well, you don’t have Ottawa’s 1st this year because it will be a top 10 pick. So they will defer and keep this years pick and you will own there 1st Round Pick next year.

@puckoverglass, or his IQ.

If toronto makes the same mistake twice in back to back rebuilds they'd be the hands down dumbest organization in professional sports.

Great trade proposal.

There is no way Tampa trades him for that. Especially only after 50 games in the league. This proposal is ridiculous.

I can't see Ivan Provorov slipping/being passed on by by the top ten choices in the draft. He looks like to be the real deal. He is the best defensmen in this draft.
