Some Oilers off-season stuff
-Draft
Draft Cossa in the 1st. Recent 1st round goalies have helped out quick and cossa is unreal.
-Trades
I think Jones for Debrusk makes sense. He's a strong winger and Boston wants dmen. I think the value makes sense.
-Signings
Coleman 3×3.5m
Wennberg 2×3m
Martinook 2×1.5m
Goodrow 2×2m
My thoughts for everything- hopefully klef is healthy or a dman needs to be signed. I think all the forwards bring some physicality and skill (wennberg less physical). Leaves the roster deeper and makes room to trade kass if a good offer comes.

Bringing in 5 forwards means there would only be potentially 2 spots for Neal, Kassian, Turris, Archibald, Khaira (RFA), Kahun (RFA), Shore, McLeod (ELC) . To get any of those players to sign they’d probably need at least an extra year or 500K, maybe both. They’d also need to dump a lot of salary. Also probably need to add at least a 3rd for Debrusk.

I think getting Debrusk would be a good trade for Edmonton. he's a good player who had an off year. he could use a change, and playing next to McDavid or Drais could see him bring his game to next level.

Pens need room for their forwards coming off of IR and Oilers could use some offensive help. Chucky can play the wing or center if needed for Edmonton and Pittsburgh get gagner for salary, a pick, and a prospect playing for the Czech republic at the WJC.

Not enough for alex . Edmonton doesn't have what the pens need.
Pitt should be tryimg to pry sam Bennett from Calgary.
A third line of McCann Bennett and tanev would give teams an absolute fits. Each could score 20 goals and use speed and tenacity to push opponents back.

Ideal Oilers offseason
Lucic+Puljujarvi for Brandon Sutter (Oilers get cap room and a viable center and Vancouver gets a high risk, high reward prospect)
Kris Russell for Ottawa's 3rd/4th round pick (Again Oilers get cap space and Ottawa reaches cap floor plus gets a solid dman)
8th overall for 11th overall+ second round pick (I think a good player will fall in the draft so acquiring another pick is smart)
Ethan Bear for Jack Roslovic/other young forward (Oilers get young forward help, other team picks up young dman)
Matt Benning for connor brown (Need for need between Toronto and Edmonton)
Sign- Michael ferland 4.5x4
Brett connoly 3.5x3
Offer sheet- Andreas Johnsson 4x4
(Most likely only 2/3 work)
Sign- Ben chiarott/ Jordie Benn 1.5x1 (just depth D)
Sign- Smith/Miller/Elliot 2x1 (goalie depth)
Or sign- Varlamov 3x3 (only works if more cap is cleared)
Sign- euro forwards and or college free agents and or multiply PTO's (all for extra depth)

The Oilers need defense and it makes no sense trading for another center. If the Jets don't resign Chariot or Myers and trade Trouba a trade for Bear might work. But I still think Bear needs time on the Moose.

I like Nurse! I do think he is outstanding, yes. Maybe he’s not too 30, but he’s probably top 50. Whare do you cut off the outstanding from the crap? 42? 37? I don’t know. What I do know is that Nurse is an outstanding player and would make an awesome Leaf, and I’m jealous Edmonton has him. Lol.

Howdy yall, this isn't really a plan but just some thoughts about the oilers off-season.
I think Seb Cossa should be their 1st rounder this year. The kid is unreal and looking at recent top goalie draft picks they have been tracking well (Hart,knight). Also, Cossa plus 1 of the 3 current top goalie prospects would give the oilers options in the future.
I think Danult is a great option if Nuge leaves. Similar players but Philly D is better on the dot and defensivly. Hopefully he's available if Nuge costs too much. (Coleman, and tatar are also interesting to me)
Lastly, I think myles wood is great if NJ ever wants to give him up. Great speed and tenacity that I think every team needs. (Would NJ take a young dman for him?)
Anyway that's just some base stuff I've been thinking about. Let me know your thoughts.

I think the trades are fine except maybe Turris, i'm not sure anyone wants him.
As for the free agents I think they're all going to get more than you have by 0.5-1.5 million. Saying that though I do like the guys you picked (especially Danault) .

Chia isn't giving up nurse for anybody at this point (and I agree with him) . Also a first and Russell mighteven be to much.
