Montreal: Max Pacioretty

Philadelphia: Wayne Simmonds, Robert Hagg

Montreal gets a player who has averaged 30 goals a season for the past 4 years who gives some size and grit and a defense prospect, while philly gets a different kind of player who also scores slightly more, but is less physical. By trading a member of their leadership group, philly can shake it up to give them a boost.

Wayne Simmonds is worth way more then patch lol.

2.) 05 Dec 2017 03:00:46
No from Philly. Both guys are good goal scorers, since 2011-12 Simmonds has 170g in 473 games, and patches has 197 in 467 games. Where the difference for me is that when patches isn’t scoring, he floats around a bit and can become discouraged and ineffective as where Simmonds finds so many different ways to make an impact. He will just grind it out defensively, block a shot, hit everything that moves or fight. He won’t let a game pass him by that he doesn’t make an impact. That more than makes up the small goal total difference for me. And add in the fact they’re the same age, and Simmonds makes 3 mill, he’s the more valuable guy. Patches is on a good contract too, but philly would never add a prospect like hagg to Simmonds for him.

3.) 05 Dec 2017 04:08:46
That's a fair assessment I guess Jim but you also have to take in account the fact simmonds has played most of his games in Philly with giroux or vorachek while pacioretty had desharnais.

4.) 05 Dec 2017 09:31:00
you'd be lucky to get simmons alone for patches, montreal adds.

St Louis: Paul Stastny

Montreal: Paul Byron + 2nd round pick + Brandon Davidson

habsfan22

1.) 07 Aug 2017 23:24:54
Are u out of your mind.

2.) 08 Aug 2017 00:09:31
Not sure why Blue's do this.

They aren't going into rebuild, they may be retooling their roster. I don't think trading Statsny is going to be apart of that unless they find the number 1 C I think they want.

Also I don't think the pieces Montreal sends here helps the Blues. Davidson is counter-productive to their deep D-core. Byron doesn't help their Center depth and the 2nd isn't spectacular.

I just see the Blues not touching this, at least not right now. Maybe looking towards the trade deadline and seeing where their at then. Still not the pieces the Blues would want as well.

3.) 08 Aug 2017 00:13:00
Forgot he is a rental, so the value here may be close. The pieces and decision to trade him right now may not be what Blues want until trade deadline. If they are in playoffs, they may keep him or pull what they did in Shattenkirk.

4.) 08 Aug 2017 02:05:25
I don't see blues doing this trade. What's in for them. Stats by would require at minimum a first.

5.) 08 Aug 2017 15:45:23
No from mtl for 7 million we can get an actual number one centet.

6.) 08 Aug 2017 16:31:07
Id prefer Byron over Stastny. wow is he overrated.

7.) 08 Aug 2017 21:07:06
Stastny is actually a pretty good player. But like a lot of players now he is grossly overpaid.

8.) 08 Aug 2017 21:25:07
Name a few GoldenShowers.
What legit center can you get right now for $7M?

9.) 09 Aug 2017 01:17:49
@yup

scheifele
Tyler seguin

There's two.

10.) 09 Aug 2017 05:09:00
The black alpaca those two guys are on the block? I wasn't aware of that lol.

11.) 09 Aug 2017 12:55:23
You can get pretty much anybody for a huge overpayment. The words on the block never came up.

12.) 09 Aug 2017 15:43:24
They are saying Seguin next contract is 9-10 miles easy.

13.) 09 Aug 2017 16:13:23
When someone says "no, for $7M we can get an actual number one center". That implies there's other options out there for that price tag besides the one discussed (Stastny, Who by the way I don't think is available right now, Possibly at deadline if Blues are out of a playoff spot)
Schiffle and Seguin are definitely not legit options.
Anyways, I'm still curious who the options are.

14.) 10 Aug 2017 11:09:40
Jason Spezza, Claude Giroux. And for half that salary we can get Bjug who is a second line center just like Stasny.

With Bergevin stacking up on lhd and having a plethora of wingers, and a 8 million in cap space, I feel he has something up his sleeve.

Montreal: Brandon Davidson, Charles Hudon, 2nd round pick

Detroit: Darren Helm, Andreas Athanasiou

or

Montreal: David Schlemko, Charles Hudon, 1st round pick

Edmonton: Ryan Nugent-Hopkins

habsfan22

1.) 26 Jul 2017 05:39:16
Please tell me this is a troll post.

That first trade is awful for Detroit. It's not going to cost Andreas Athanasiou to dump Helm's contract. Also trading both of them is counter productive because Athanasiou makes up for the loss in Helm. Not to mention the pieces you offered might/ might not get Helm alone. Detroit may find a way to move Helm's contract but Detroit is not trading Andreas Athanasiou any time soon because that would go against the much needed rebuild plan.

Second Trade: if that's all it cost to get RNH, numerous teams can outbid that in a heartbeat and probably would. Hudon has value but you hold him way too high. Also that first is likely a mid-late first so not much help, plus you don't help Edmonton's significant needs whatsoever.

Both trades highly favour Habs and won't happen.

2.) 26 Jul 2017 15:19:31
The habs have very little to trade that has value. Zero grade a prospects and no one wants their cap dumps for assets or players.

3.) 26 Jul 2017 15:42:30
Wow. Both Detroit and Edmonton laugh at you and hang up.

4.) 26 Jul 2017 17:19:04
Terrible for Wings and Oilers to no surprise.

5.) 28 Jul 2017 03:43:06
every body thinks RNH is all that and a ball of wax, they've been trying to trade him for three years, even New jerry did not want him they had to traded Taylor Hall, he is a number three centermen making 6 mil/ yrs, in 7 years never had more than 56 point, never had more than 24 goal, and we beat up on galchenyuk, him is worth a Pelk, or a danault no more, and that is why his still in edmonton.

02 Jun 2017 15:36:40
Montreal: Alexei Emelin, conditional 3rd (40 points)

Winnipeg: Mathieu Perreault

Montreal gets a top 9 center who can produce on the powerplay and with similar stats as Galchenyuk. Winnipeg gets a hard-hitting d who can help their p.k. and provide more physicality to complement big buff.

1.) 02 Jun 2017 16:15:34
Easy no from the jets.

2.) 03 Jun 2017 02:27:58
No from. Mtl We have Dana ultimate, Mitchell and Plekanec as third line center. No end to give people are best hiring D men for another and add a pick out top of that. No thnaks.

03 May 2017 01:26:28
Tampa Bay: Ryan Callahan,3rd

Los Angeles : Dustin Brown,2nd

Not a fan of either of these teams, but was just thinking that they're both struggling players with huge contracts, so why not give them both a change of scenery. Brown's contract is longer, so La gives a second while Callahan's is shorter, but he is older, so they give a 3rd.

No way in hell TB takes on two more years of a useless player for an upgrade of 1 round, not going to happen. TB is stocked with prospects, not like they desperately need a 2nd instead of a 3rd. Not close.

Habs should place Moen on waivers.

Pacioretty-Desharnais-Parenteau
Galchenyuk-Plekanec-Gallagher
Bourque-Eller-Sekac
Prust-Malhotra-Weise
Extras-Bournival and Tangradi

Markov-Subban
Emelin-Gilbert
Beaulieu/Tinordi-Weaver
Beaulieu for games with less physical teams or for extra offence.

Tinordi for games with physical teams.

Funny how you say Nedeljkovic is equal or better given that Fucale has an almost identical stat line so far this year, but Fucale is only a year older and is playing in the Ahl wheras Nedeljkovic is playing in the O.

You got it Skeletor514. I'll try to use a bit more common sense but then I'm a biased and pissed at Therrien so I want alternate scenarios.
