Since Ottawa is shopping Hammond and the Sharks don't seem sold on just having Dell as their backup I could see a fit there.

Using the recent Condon deal as a basis:

Sharks get Hammond

Sens get either a low level prospect or a 5th round pick

Not a blockbuster by any means but given the sharks and sens trade history it seems entirely plausible.

I thought they got condon so if Andersen leaves they'll have two NHL goalies still. They're going with a 3 goalie system.

Reports are that they are testing the market for him. My best guess is that unless they get something surprisingly good for him they'll keep him.

Just seeing this based on value and needs.

Why should SJ be unhappy with Dell? He's been great so far.

4.) 17 Nov 2016 01:25:22
Great? He's played 2 NHL ever and has 5 goals against.

Hammond sucks. Flash in the pan.

6.) 17 Nov 2016 12:12:06
I'm not denying Hammond isn't worth a lot, actually it's why I'd rather have him out of Ottawa while there's a chance to get something for him.

7.) 17 Nov 2016 16:19:57
Hammond isn't even worth a cold dried up cheese-burger.

8.) 17 Nov 2016 19:27:47
Hammond has only had a bad start to the season because the team around him was still learning their defensive systems sorted out.

I don't know why Ottawa hasn't done this yet but they definitely should.

To Ottawa: Datsyuk's contract + one of Pulkinen or Jurco

To Detroit: 6th round pick

Reasoning: Ottawa has tons of cap space, and before you say it is because they are on an internal cap and they can't afford Datsyuk, they won't have to actually pay him. Plus they get a young RW to take over the third line and provide scoring depth.

Wings waiting to see what happens with Stamkos. If Stamkos goes to FA, they'll trade Datsyuk+ for cap room and go hard. If he doesn't reach FA, no point in moving an additional asset just to rid of one year of Datsyuk's contract.

Well yes, datsyuk's trade is contingent on a couple of things. All I'm saying is that this trade would benefit both teams, so I hope Ottawa considers making a bid on it.

Looks like Flames have signed Versteeg to a one year deal just shy of $1 mil.

Really helps their right side as he can play with Mony and Johnny.

Another problem, Fleury ain't going to be worth anything after the season. The longer they wait to trade him the lower his value gets because everyone knows they have to trade him or they lose Murray.

Pittsburgh is fighting a losing battle here

Agreed, someone proposed something like this for Stafford to Ottawa and he has 10 points

Tampa is in the market for a top 4 D. Aside from Hedman, Stralman, and to some extent Coburn their D has been embarrassing.

Florida already have Ekblad and Demers. With Barkov and Bjugstad getting injured all the time they need Trocheck

Yea I don't know why you would want Emelin. And Risto is worth way more than that too

He has been struggling recently. Not going to lie it makes me a little happier then it should. But despite his struggles they're still tops in their division

A 19 year old rookie on pace for a 50+ point season for a 34 year old declining winger and a backup goalie. Treviling laughs and Burke calls out Shero on the media for this offer

You're right. According to the CBA and the "Kovy" rule, the year a player turns 40 their cap hit drops to equal their salaries. Any contract signed before 2010 does not have this rule applied, so Hossa and Luongo do not have this happen as they were signed in 2009

It might be because of Toews being included in the NHL's top 100 players of all time thing. There was a report saying all of the active players in the league on that list would be going, which is why Chicago has 4 members going

The cap hit is the average of the money paid out over the course of the contract. The actual salary might drop year to year but the cap hit doesn't
