carnyslop, we'll happily stay "stuck" with Weber. As previously stated, you need veteran experience to help with a rebuild. Weber will do a great job in that regard.

You think Montreal would have been better off drafting Tkachuk over Kotakaniemi?
They potentially just solved an organizational need for the past 20+ years. While Tkachuk would have been great to have for his physicality, he won't be scoring 25+ goals and 60pts+ a year like Kotkaniemi might.

@McJesus Christ
Do you honestly think an expiring contract (ie: Rental) like Tavares is going to cost Chucky, a pair of 1st round picks, a 2nd round pick, and Montreal's 2 best defense prospects?
You're really out of touch with reality if you're serious.

Why is it that people always undervalue Montreal's players and prospects?
- Galchenyuk will be a perennial 30 goal scorer. He was on pace for scoring over a point per game in the first 20 games of the year before getting injured for a lengthy period and then being mentally destroyed by Therrien upon his return.
- Sergachev is going to be a stud d-man for years to come, playing on the top line. Big body, physical, and capable of moving the puck very well, while also having a great slapshot.
- Lindgren has potential to be a starting goalie.
- Plus a 1st round pick.
For one player who is a point per game, and will likely get a huge contract.
May as well just wait it out until he reaches FA.

Galchenyuk who has already scored 30 goals in a season in his career, and had scored 19pts in 17 games this past season, including a top defensive prospect and a 1st round pick. for an unproven prospect, and a player who played in the AHL this year.
A solid no from Montreal.
