The decision concerning Patrice Bergeron was not whether he would return to action for Game 81 or 82 of the regular season. Nor was it, really, whether he would play in one of the 1st 2 games of the Bruins-Canadiens series in Montreal, or wait for Game 3 or 4 at the Garden.

Canadiens captain Saku Koivu expects to miss at least the final week of the regular season with a foot injury. Koivu was hurt Friday against Buffalo when he was struck by the puck and sat out Saturday's contest against Toronto.

Guy Carbonneau mentioned that he and Patrick Roy are still friends even though they were on opposite sides of this week's junior hockey brawl controversy. Carbonneau, head coach of the Canadiens, is part owner of the Chicoutimi Sagueneens, whose goalie Bobby Nadeau was pummelled by Quebec Remparts backup goalie Jonathan Roy, son of former NHL good Patrick Roy, the team's coach, GM and part owner.
