I'm defiantly not saying that Arizona is looking to trade OEL but dallas is a team that really needs a stud man like him! If Arizona were willing to look at trade options, I'm guessing they would want this from Dallas

I could see that one go, atleast as a base in a trade not sure if Dallas would give upp that much for a D but you never know, I have a hard time see Arizona turn that down though.

^ Alexander Semin has absolutely nothing to do with this trade, but since we're on the subject, just because you score a highlight goal doesn't make you any better of a player. He has 16 points and is a -10 in 40 games. Definition of useless.
As for this trade, the value seems fair, but I don't think Arizona would take it. OEL is by far their best defenseman, and I don't think they can afford to trade him since they've already traded Yandle. Unless they get a defenseman back to replace him, that is.

Scoring a goal that only a few other players could score suggests that he could be quite useful if you use logic IMO
If the 1st round pick is in 2015 I think the value is close and Arizona says no.
OEL is a beast and he stays in Arizona unless maybe you offer them a trade that they can't say no too.

Poor Leaf fans. Just can't accept defeat.
But since I'm typing, I might as well weigh in on the "highlight goal" discussion.
Was it a nice goal? Absolutely. But as I said in my previous post, scoring a highlight reel goal doesn't make you any better of a player. Maybe the term "useless" for Semin is a bit harsh, so I'll put it this way. He's overpaid. He's getting paid $7 million per year to do pretty much what any average second liner can do for $3-4 million less.

You can't be serious with that semin comment. If you seriously believe what you just write than you know absolutely nothing about hockey. Semin has what, 16 points this year and has been a healthy scratch for a number of games. He pays no defence of course as well.
And I don't see how you're proving me wrong, you just make an extremely biased or skewed opinion and use that to say I'm wrong. An posting demons career numbers shows less than nothing. Sure he had so e good years but now he's useless. If we're using career numbers here then let's trade kessel would have similar value to semin due tmsimilar contracts and career numbers. I don't think it's necessary to say how wrong that is.

Yeah those are solid stats. But there's just one small issue. Oh yes, a LARGE majority of those points came when he was playing in Washington. Since coming to Carolina he has what, one 20 goal season? Semin is paid for pretty much one reason. To score goals. Not sure what you're seeing in Semin that may render him useful, because I'd like to see them. And when I say that, I mean something other than you searching his name in Google and pasting his stats from years ago.

anyways, you're smehow trying to make semin seem like he's at least serviceable, which he is not. contract and all aside, just take into consideration his on ice performance.
sure he has good looking career numbers, but the vast majorit came from his time in washington where, if i'm not mistaken, he played a lot with ovy and backstrom. since coming to carolina h had the one decent year inn the lockout shortened season, and since signing the huge deal he has done literally nothing. he puts up numbers you'd expect from a 3rd liner (50ish points in 100 ish games total) yet he obviously does not play the style a 3rd liner is expected to play. Therefore, where are you going to play him? on a good team he wouldn't even be played because of those reasons. so yes, I stand by my statement of him being the definition of useless.

I have given my opinion on semin many times.
Overpaid, high end skillset, questionable attitude at best and he would fit better on another team.far from useless.
I'm not too sure how john Scott and semin compare other than the sport they play. Maybe if john Scott scores another 230 goals before retiring it would be smart to compare them.

Alexander semin is an elite talent who is slumping right now he is not useless. The people that call him useless are beyond useless.hey Shankar semin put up 22 goals 42 points and plus 1 in 65 games last year you preaching he has done literally nothing is not true and completely useless.
