Flyers can retain a little of Grossmann's salary to help Hawks with salary. Assuming Hawks trade Oduya, they get a younger 3rd pair defender on a favorable contract. Flyers biggest needs are a #1 LW, #1 Dman, backup goalie, and cap space. Here they can take care of their needs. Leaves about $4 mil in space not including buyout money. Markstrom is a big goalie like Mason and he could learn how to rejuvenate a career like Mason did. MacDonald is 28 years old and Sabres can take his salary.
