So the Oilers have opted NOT to resign Derek Roy. Now I'm lead to believe they are going to try really hard to acquire Soderberg. he's much more the type of center the Oilers need. Bigger, Stronger, Faster, Younger, and much better defensively. Keeping my fingers crossed.

Yeah I agree. He did play well with yakupov but I guess they have other plans. I just hope its not Daisaitl. I think he needs another year to develop

I feel the Oilers still need a bonafide second line LW. I feel like Pouliot should be on the third. And I feel like they need a bonafide third line RW. i'm assuming first line would be Hall-mcdavid-Eberle second would be what? Pouliot-Nuge-yak?

McDavid will be second line with easy minutes.

Hall- McDavid-?
Yakupov and Pouliot will probably fill the holes

Yeah the lines will probably be
Pouliot. RNH. Eberle
Hall. McDavid. Yakupov
When Hall was injured last year Pouliot, Nuge and Ebs played well together.

Joel Ward hasn't had any contract talks with Washington yet. He could be a good RW to pick up. After seeing Mclellan put Hall-Crosby-Eberle on the same line for team Canada. Leads me to believe he will put Hall-Mcdavid-Eberle first line. but I guess we really need to see what happens in the Off season.Sign Ward and Soderbeg. Really need a Second line LW. that's why I'd like to see them make a trade for Sharp. There is so much depth on every team that has won the cup since 2006. Edmonton has some good forward but still needs a couple more. If they had lines like .
1. Hall-McDavid_Eberle
2. Sharp-Nuge-Ward
3. Pouliot-Soderberg-Yak
4. Hendricks-Lander-?
Oilers would probably have to lose some contracts of guys like Gordon, Purcell, Nikitin. maybe Fayne to make cap space. especially if they want to add some defense and a goalie. But that's an offense with depth that coupld compete for the cup

Would hate to see the wagon line split up. Lander can handle 3rd line Center if Roy isn't resigned or he can be a nice trade chip.

Yeah. a lot of guessing what's going to happen with this team. Still lots of work that needs to be done. I just hope there is only smart beneficial moves made this off season. Nothing stupid. please! Need to see some good free agent signings. I would love to see them give Hamilton an offer sheet. Kid is a beast!

So I may have jumped the gun on the Roy thing. There was an article in the Edmonton Journal that says the Oilers probably won't resign Roy because they have McDavid, Nuge, Lander, Gordon and Draisaitl for centers. doesn't necessarily mean they have chosen not too. Who knows. maybe they will just move Lander up to 3rd line center and keep him there instead of trying to find a replacement. Oilers do have a lot of pricey contracts that aren't doing them any favors.

Not sure Roy would fetch a hockey puck in a trade. No body wanted this guy. that's how he ended up in Edmonton. he's pretty much a broken man #Rusev (had to throw that in there)hes not half as good as he used to be. he's knees are busted and as a result he's pretty much one of the slowest skaters in the NHL. Edmonton was his lost shot at playing. don't forget. we got him from the Preds for Arcobello :/ maybe another team would give him a shot but no one would trade for him seeing as he is a UFA July 1st. he was playing for a million bucks . In Edmonton.
