If Kessel gets moved then the team trading for him must have 3 things;

- Cap space
- Need for a scoring winger
- Open to trading their 2015 1st round pick

The only team that truly has those qualities would be the Florida Panthers. Their management believes their window for Loungo is about 2-3 years and they have the right young pieces to push for a cup. Not to mention they are putting on the draft which would make a big acquisition more welcomed by fans.

Florida is deep down the middle so in theory the deal could go similar to this;

Flo: Kessel

Tor: Barkov or Bjugstad, a B level prospect, and the 11th overall

Its a steep price but its what the deal would take **NOT SAYING IT WILL HAPPPEN** just that's the asking price. If the Leafs don't get it I truly believe they will hold out and wait another season for a better deal. there's no rush to a proper rebuild.

Possible. 2 things though: cap space is workable (salary dump going the other way) and teams Always need a scoring winger.
example: Carolina, 5th overall and semin-7m for Kessel-8m.

Impossible.

Barkov alone >= Kessel

Also, Barkov >> Bjugstad. Shows how less you know. Let alone adding a B prospect and 11th overall.

@ Draisaitl_94
Wow, you must be a lot of fun to be around.

Agreed with Draisaitl. Not happening

You said it winger27. Drais, you're sounding more like your side kick "chirpy" every day. We all don't know as much about hockey as the two of you. However, you both missed your calling as a GM so please allow the rest of us to have some fun. Bjugstad did put up more points last year and they're both very young. I think that might be your opinion on whose better.
Barkov or Bjugstad, whomever Drais feels is fair, Bolland and the 11th overall for Kessel. I think it's fair without adding a prospect.

While I don't agree with Drais' assessment, it does seem counterintuitive for Florida to move Barkov. Bjugstad or Hubredeau seem like the more likely candidates.

What people tend to forget is that if a team wants Kessel they are going to have to send at least one legitimate young piece to Toronto. Regardless of what your opinion of him or his trade value, that is a fact.

Barkov= kessel. That trade would benefit both teams Florida needs a winger and Tor needs a future #1 center. But Florida probably won't do that because he is the future #1 center of there franchise and there harder to find then wingers

Well, much is opinions, no doubt. But at some points, it stops. Whoever thinks Bjugstad carries the same value as Barkov, geeez. I really like Bjugstad, I really do. He'll turn out to be a great #2-3 C in this league. But Barkov, has the potential to and will likely eventually involve into FLAs #1 center. So yes, he is easily worth more than Bjugstad. Barkov got picked 2nd overall for a reason. In front of guys like Drouin and Seth Jones.

And comparing their last year point totals? Srsly? Barkov is still 19! Bjugstad is 22. Compare Barkov's point totals in 2-3 years with Bjugstads 43 from last year and you'll see what I meant.

I don't disagree about Barkov and Bjudstad, I was referring more to Kessel/Barkov.

25 Jun 2015 00:10:55
You may be right drais. I've said it before that I don't follow the younger kids until they make the NHL. I wish I did but I don't seem to find the time. As myself and others have pointed out, there's no need to be a "chirp" when you comment. That is the new word for being a D**K!
