Oil might have over payed on Reinhart considering what Calgary traded for Hamilton… although they seem very high on him and he was drafted higher than Hamilton.
Thought they were going to over pay on Talbot but that wasn't half bad.
Gryba will be a good physical bottom pairing D.
I didn't like that they pretty much gave Marincin away.
Thoughts?

Loved everything they did until they traded away Marincin. Can't understand that move at all.

I think Marincin has a better chance to play with Toronto Full time, Leafs will be trading either or both Polak/Gardiner (maybe Phaneuf) Oilers probably going to sign Green & Jackman. Think there was a guy that Oilers liked still hanging around and got him, and gave a chance to Marincin to play.
Oil stole Talbot, Lehner & a 1yr salary dump gets #31 overall? Talbot is simply a better goalie for very late picks. Great deal by Oil.
G.Reinhart has the skill, but over the last year I've noticed he may be short on will. Oil overpaid, but it's a upgrade over Marincin.

I don't see the Oilers going after Green, and don't see purpose in getting Jackman now that they've acquired Gryba (though I did suspect they might try for Jackman before that). I think they will stand pat til free agency now and attempt to get Sekera and maybe Joel Ward (or another bottom-6 of that calibre).

Great moves by oilers, Peter Ciarelli in my eyes was the winner of the draft. Still scratching my head on the Marincin trade.

Still have Lupul, Bozak, Phaneuf and Kessel, when in a rebuild you want to trade those players away with draft picks coming bakc! Just set their rebuld back a valuavble year. Huilarious they went into draft with no GM, and it back fired completely. This is the time to throw your Leafs jerseys onto the road!!

@yep. You do know that trades didn't have to be made by draft day right? They have lots of time, no need to rush a deal. You don't just give away guys like Kessel. McJealous? Of course everyone wanted McDavid but it's only fair that the worst team in the league, year after year gets him. Not that the leafs are any good, but how many 1st overalls does one team need to still be garbage?
