Tampa Bay: Taylor Hall, Lander
Edmonton: Jonathan Drouin, Braydon Coburn, Alex Killorn, Slatter Koekkek

I just read a very interesting article on HNGN.

A hefty price, but the thought of Hall on the wing with Steven Stamkos would make Lightning GM Steve Yzerman giddy.

And Jonathan Drouin hasn't jumped as Yzerman hoped he would, fracturing his thumb around a year ago.

Lighting did fine without Braydon Coburn before the trade deadline.

Alex Killorn isn't a big piece of the team.

Koekkek hasn't progressed as everyone hoped he would. Selected 10th overall in the 2012 NHL draft and has only played 3 NHL games.

As for Edmonton, Pouliot basically stole the winger spot on the first line. (Eberle has the other).

Drouin would play with McDavid and Yakupov (oh how wonderful would that be)

Braydon Coburn was born in Calgary so it would be like going back home for him.

I would really, love to hear what the Lighting fans have to say about this.

Not sure I like it for Tampa. Doesn't really fit their cap strategy Drouin has been better than people are saying (although needs to develop his defensive game) and Koekkoek made large strides as he adjusted to pro hockey and played his first injury free season. Killorn plays on the top line he is undervalued by most casual fans. Hall - Stamkos would be great but with play styles Drouin - Stamkos could be as good or better. My opinion anyway, I think tampa gives up to much to marginally improve short term and cause them more cap troubles. And Tampa D without Coburn would be hur to ng for a top 4 d man

Well said^

would only remotely acceptable to bolts fans if taylor hall was made of steel, but he's made of glass so no trade.

even then its still too much for hall

No from both teams.

Holy. Taylor Hall isn't that good. Plus he's had injury problems. Don't think TB needs to add a big salary right now either with upcoming free agents, Stamkos etc.

Drouin - future 1st liner
Coburn - Solid bottem 6 D
Killorn - very underrated player, TB loves him
Koekoek - future NHL Dman, could see him being a top 4

I think it's an awful trade for TB.
brutal

Haha, Killorn isn't a big piece of the team? He played along side of Stamkos the entire year and played really well in the playoffs.

Y trade a drouin who could be another st.louis/ Johnson type player

Killorn is not a big part of the team? in playoffs he was one of the better players on the ice and played top line minutes.

I don't like the deal for tampa they are losing to many solid players that will either contribute moving forward or are already contributing. Hall is amazing but his injury history is a little scary for a guy his age.

Tampa would be able to find something to help them better by finding another trade partner for Drouin.

Horrible. I love Hall, but the price is a joke.
Drouin could just be as good.

Yet, you add Coburn (don't mind him gone) and Killorn (who is a BIG part of the team) and a top D prospect.

Koekkoek made big improvements, defensemen take time to develop.
He will be a top 4 defenseman at the very least.

Plus, not good cap wise.

hilarious the agree disagrees to my post.

Take away killorn who's has a high value right now and I'd say it's close to even because Drouin has a low value sense he did not do much for the team this year. This trade would improve Tampa a lot for the shorterm but would be risky long term maybe retain 1.5 on halls contract to increase the value.
