Isles don't need plekanec, Hudson is a career all player, de la rose and the 2nd have value, but need more for Okposo. And isles need Martin as he is their only physical presence. No trade as this favors the Hans.

Montreal passes already have to many RW and Hudon in not a career AHL player. He was top 15 in scoring in his rookie season with Hamilton.

@Warrior2424 Cal Clutterbuck is also a huge physical presence
27 Aug 2015 00:26:16
@Warrior2424. I'm not a Habs fan but I think Hudon is actually a decent prospect. Could be a future 3rd line two-way C.
27 Aug 2015 02:09:50
Yea, big no from the Isles.
27 Aug 2015 03:24:43
Crazy overpaiement by Habs on the second trade imo.
Wouldn't do Plekanec for Okposo straight up

Aaaaaaahahahahahah! elyogi. That's the greatest thing I've ever heard on here!
27 Aug 2015 13:18:08
LOL elyogi. This why Habs fan are the new leafs fans hahaha
27 Aug 2015 13:47:18
That because you don't understand value Elyogi. Clutterbuck gets a lot of hits, but he does not drop the gloves and protect players. Hudon will be nothing more than depth player, call up player.
The idea of a trade is it addresses team needs, isles needs are a veteran defenseman. They have multiple centers already on the roster and no need for plekanec, Hudon would be behind multiple other players in the minors, and as I said before de la rose is a good prospect and the 2nd round has value. De la rose and a first, Okposo would probably be going to Montreal.
A far more plausible trade between isles and Montreal would be Emelin for a 4th, maybe a 2017 3rd. He is not a great player but gives the isles some more size on d, and isles could send back Brian strait as a 7th d man for the Habs.

Plekanec scored 60 points (26 goals) last season.
He is our best defensive forward and a great 2nd line center IMO. He's hardly ever injured, 31 years old, UFA next year, PK specialist.
Okposo is younger (27) and doesn't seem to be prone to injury either, but is way worse defensively and has been stacking great offensive numbers in the last 2 seasons because he was playing with an elite center, the same player that allowed Moulson and Parenteau to bank on lucrative contracts following their seasons with him.
So for this price (Plekanec, Hudon, De la rose, 2nd) I would definitely pass!

And why do you mention Clutterbuck?
Cause in your mind he was worth Nino Niederreiter?
27 Aug 2015 19:12:04
Mentioned Clutterbuck because he was mentioned in an earlier post, actually read before you respond. And no he is not worth Nino, but that is done. every team makes bad trades even the Habs, I'm sure you would want McDonough back.
Focusing on value or current trades, Isles don't need plekalanec, yes he is a good 2c but the isles already have JT, Nielsen, Grabovski, Nelson, Strome, Baily, Czizaks who are all natural Centers. That is why it does not make sense to trade a wing in okposo for a center. Trades need to make sense for both teams, this one does not.
