EDM//MTL

Benoit Pouliot and a 4th round pick

David Desharnais(gets used on the wing in EDM), Joonas Nattinen and Tom Gilbert

EDM would acquire a left wing or Center in David Desharnais who can contribute in some ways and give EDM a guy who is used to winning. They also acquire former Oiler Tom Gilbert who is a good puck mover and who gives them more depth on defence and also deepen their prospect pool.

Habs acquire Benoit Pouliot who could contribute massively, especially in the Stanley cup playoffs. He would be an upgrade on Desharnais. MTL also frees some salary and get a 4th round pick.

Horrible. Pouliot would have scored 30 goals last season if he didn't break his foot. He is a really good. Compliment to nuge and eberle. And plus we wouldn't want Gilbert back

@Nerb Pouliot was only on pace for 26 goals this year.

Oilers already have a lot of d depth and Pouliot is more valuable to Edmonton than those guys

Why would the oilers trade their big winger, for a small center, just to play him on the wing. Gilbert would be another pricey 6-7 defensman, which the oilers have plenty of. Oilers don't even consider this.

Awful

Maybe I'm wrong but Desharnais has played center his whole career. Not every player can play multiple positions. He's small and doesn't get physical, not the guy i'd want digging the puck out of the corners. There are some great small wingers but not Desharnais IMO

Wow, this is terrible. Like, not even close.

Had Pouliot before. For some reason it didn't work. He's the better player forsure. And maybe he had matured since then. but I think maybe he can't handle the pressure of Montreal. I'm not a big fan of bringing guys back.

Habs pass, better off with Desharnais
