Smoke show I could less were Stamkos goes it really is up to him, I'm 90% sure he'll resign in Tampa bay but you just never know.

I honestly don't think a Kane for Stamkos trade isn't that bad of an idea. Obviously some things will have to happen for this to be a possibility. Like seeing if Kane gets charged and/or convicted. Also Steven Stamkos and Steve Yzerman will have to have contract talks to go pretty sour for the Lightning to even conceive of a trade. I agree with BJ96, I'm 90-95% sure that Steven Stamkos will resign with Tampa. However if Tampa does decide to trade Stamkos and Kane somehow gets off scot-free this Kane for Stamkos would make the most sense. Both teams don't receive high end elite offensive quality in return and keeps both teams as Stanley Cup favourites. But with all of the bad baggage that comes along with Patrick Kane, I feel that Chicago would still have to add.

You have a pretty good point, but still this is an easy no from Tampa Bay based on leadership alone. Trading your captain for a guy that has had multiple brush ups with law, is NOT a good idea.
Plus the fact that Stamkos probably wants the same amount as Kane, why wouldn't they just give the money to him instead of trading him for Kane?

I agree with absolutely everything you said and I believe that Stamkos will resign with Tampa. I'm just saying if for whatever reason Tampa decides to trade Stamkos, interms of pure exchange of skill to stay at a high level of compete, a Kane for Stamkos trade makes the most sense. Rather than receiving a boat load of prospects and picks that wouldn't help Tampa in the immediate future. In terms of available high end elite skill at a reasonably younger age, it's not out there.
