They trade centers. both getting new starts from only team they only played for. Carolina gets 2 nhl ready prospects and trade a 3rd pic for a 2nd.

plekanec has no use to CAR, expiring contract and doest fit a rebuild age-wise. the prospects are far from quality and players like what they are projected to be can be found pretty much anywhere (many still available in free agency or were only offered PTO's), and moving up 10 spots or so in a draft isn't incentive enough at all, since CAR will likely have ealry round choices while MTL will more than likley have later round choices.

well considering plekanec out played stall in pretty much every aspect of the game last year and tinordi is a former 1st round pick and bournival would easily be a 3rd or 4th line player on Carolina i'd say its pretty close value for stall and his 8.5 mil deal if Carolina wants anymore then this they can keep him as far as i'm concerned

This deal would be a steal for Montreal. Carolina says no, add something of value to them in their rebuild. You can't just offer up a bunch of stuff you don't want to a team for arguably their best player when they need pieces for a rebuild. Think a little before you post.

then i'm sure they'll keep him, or even better, trade him for things that will help him long term.
tinordi is 23 years old now and has yet to even come close to establishing himself as a regular nhl player and is entering the "bust" category, if you will.
bournival, like you say, is a bottom 6 forward at best. those players are not hard to find.

true Shankar its not a blow your mind package being offered in the proposal from a habs perspective but I think eric stall and his massive salary are getting a little bit overvalued by a lot of people I mean a step up from this would be if the habs offered plekanec beaulieau McCarron and a 2nd for stall you might say its fair and I would say its ludicrous

staal does come with a large cap hit, but its only for this season, and f it were to be done around the deadline, the team getting him would only need something like 2 million or so in room. for what he has the skill to bring, that's not much at all, especially if the team trading for him believes they'll be able to sign him to a more realistic contract.
thats not to say he has the value he did a few years back, but he should still be able to bring in a very nice return if CAR does decide to move him.

Eric Staal is a great 1st line center, he's just on a bad team.
He's worth a roster player, mid 1st Round, and a B prospect IMO.
I believe any package for Staal would be around. Tomas Plekanec, Nathan Beaulieu, and a 1st Round pick. Possibly more added

I would not trade for stall cause he had past is prime! Even if montreal steal This trade, we would lose him at the end of the years cause the guy want 8 million a year!
