I have an idea for a Bishop to St. Louis trade, (next offseason, also I know it may not be a perfect fit for the blues but they could use a number 1 goalie and have the assets) .

To Blues
G, Ben Bishop

To Bolts
D, Colton Parayko
F, Ty Rattie
2016 3rd

I don't care if it's not a fit, just wanna know value wise if it's off.

Salary Cap.

29 Oct 2015 17:09:02
Are you serious. There is a good chance that Colton Parayko will be in contention for the calder trophy. They are calling him the second comming of pronger with a slap shot of Al McInnis. Milbury called him a faster younger Shea weber. And you think we will trade this first year rookie calder candidate with our best AHL Call up and a 3rd for Ben Bishop. Funniest thing i have heard all week. that's freaking hilarious. Colton Parayko for the blues ia as untouchable as Conor Mcdavid for the Oilers. Army just put you on Call block LOL.

29 Oct 2015 18:44:14
Uhh, a little bit of overstating on Parayko, don't you think? We're 10 games into the season and already he is the 2nd coming of Pronger/Weber? Pull the reigns a little, buddy. He's playing well and could be a dark horse Calder candidate if he continues like this all season but to automatically put him in the same ranks as McDavid at this point is absurd.

All that being said, blues say no. They have Jake Allen and other strong goaltending prospects developing.

29 Oct 2015 18:49:43
@russian tank
Sheesh. Fair enough, didn't think Parayko was in the same class as McDavid.

29 Oct 2015 18:58:22
@Chirp
Ya I see what your saying. Just wondering if the trade values were close. But apparently Parayko is the next best defencemen according to Russian tank.

29 Oct 2015 20:59:32
according to russian tank, every st. louis player and prospect is > than any other team's players and prospects. the montrealfinest/pinball of st. louis if you will.

29 Oct 2015 21:44:30
@Shankar 😂😂😂.

29 Oct 2015 23:02:49
I really like that package from St. Louis as Parakyo looks amazing so far (to easy to compare him to weber and pronger @russiantank lol) however Bishop is a legit #1 goalie and I think he could get more. Blues don't really need a goalie unless they move Allen or Elliott. They've been solid so far.

29 Oct 2015 23:55:17
Watch him play. He is amazing. I didn't say he was a younger she's webber Milburn on nbcsports. If this kid was on your team you would be excited too. Some players just stick out and he is already getting 20 mins a night. He actually had no problem shutting down McDavid twice fast to for s big boy just watch him play #55.

29 Oct 2015 23:57:19
ShankAR I don't think all my players are better than others but when people offer two cappy people from a crapp team for ahatty tarasenko or one of our great young kids I'm going to call u out on it.

30 Oct 2015 04:57:09
Yeah first game was against the blues and I'd never heard of the kid before in my life and he stuck out. I hope he can keep it up but he most likely won't be in Calder contention and he couldn't even touch McDavid.

30 Oct 2015 04:57:15
Dude, I'm a fan of the Blues and Parayko too, but I do my best to be unbiased and look at things from a broader point of view. And you're really not helping yourself using a quote from Mike Milbury. He is a moron. All he cares about is that a player is big and will hit. He couldn't judge skill if he had an instruction manual. Just look at his reign in NY. Dude shouldn't be commenting on hockey in this new area.

But never mind that. Parayko is a strong player so far. Hopefully it keeps up. D is a tough position to play, especially when the player is young, but you and I (well, I at least) know how tough it is for a dman to sustain a strong start a full season and keep in the running for the Calder. So far so good but we are barely into the season. I'm not even singing McDavid (nor Yak's) praises because it's waaay too early for anything.

30 Oct 2015 11:04:05
Draw comparisons to last years Calder winner. So far so good for Parayko, but like it has been stated the season is still young. And you do overvalue your players and think they walk on water. Goaltending has caused you to lose every single time you make it to the playoffs, adding a legit #1 goalie who enjoys the pressure and plays lights out is something the Blues should welcome. Just my opinion.

30 Oct 2015 17:09:13
who do you consider a #1 goalie. Blues had Halak, Elliot, Miller, Allen. Unless your talking about Price, Quick and maybee a few others. there are not thatmany goalies who are leaps and bounds better than what we have. Certainly not worth trading shattenkirk for and adding a lot of salary. Unless the goalie coming back is Price or Quick i don't want none.

If you think i'm full of it please by all means show me post your stats of goalies compare them to Elliot allen. The problem is the team not just goaltending. Hell the hawks don't rely on crawford to win they relay on Kane toews keith seabrook. The only difference bettween them and us is they always find a way o win no matter what. Blues decimated the wild when they played their game it just so happened that they only played 1 game up to their full potential. Layed a fat egg on the rest of the games.

30 Oct 2015 17:16:11
oilers_11

YOu should watch the games between the blues. McDavid couldn't get by Colt55 and on top of that Colt stripped him of thepuck several times. Those are facts my friend so if he stops Conor and takes the puck from him does not not in fact me he can touch Connor. Just saying.

30 Oct 2015 17:39:25
Like i said before this kid is good. TSN just wrote a piece on him. But what do i know about hockey or talent.

30 Oct 2015 18:33:25
You're a less funny Blues version of MontrealFinest.
Im already bored by you. You're as bad as deluded leafs fans.

30 Oct 2015 20:07:16
Chirp_

Please enlighten me. I have never made outrageous claims. Only time will tell. So far Colt55 has shut down mcdavid to no shots or points against blues, he has out pointed Eichel and has better +/-

here are the facts
conor M
5G 7A 12P -1 22sog 18.23 TOI 11games played

J eichel
3G 0A 3P -7 35sog 19:16 TOI 10 games played

Colton Parayko
4G 3A 7P +8 30sog 19:47 TOI 10 games played

iS HE BETTER THAN MCDAVID NO BUT IF HE KEEPS IT UP HE WILL BE FIGHTING FOR THR CALDER.

31 Oct 2015 00:27:00
So the Calder is based on how you do against the 1st and 2nd overall picks? LOLOL!

You need to calm the F down, buddy. It's still October, for crying out loud, and you're already claiming him as the Calder winner and you seemed to hint at a Norris nom too? !
Do you even know the likelihood of a Dman winning the Calder? He has to be OUTSTANDING. Ekblad won last year by putting up 40+ points, breaking a franchise record (or 2), and running the 1st line like he'd been doing it for years. Before him? Eric Johnson. 2003 draft. Bit of a discrepancy, no? Is it because no good Dmen came out of the drafts over those years? Uh, no. It's because Dmen RARELY win the Calder.

He's been great, I'm not denying that. Hell, as I stated, I'm even a fan! He's from St Albert, Alberta, which is right next to Edmonton, Alberta. And at the start of the year, he was playing next to Joel Edmunson. Edmunson. Edmonton. Get the joke? I found that kinda funny. But what isn't funny (anymore) is your boner for this player and you trying to one-up me with pick-and-choose stats like I don't have a clue. I follow hockey like I'm involved in it, okay? I very likely (edit: DO) have a better idea about what's going on in the league than you do. You follow the Blues? Great. I follow damn near every team in the league. It's been a while since I really went off on someone so thank you for being a moron so I could vent a little bit but you need to clam up now. At this point, Parayko is GOOD. He's GOOD. Is he great? Hell no. Has he locked up the Calder? HELL NO. Pump the brakes, you ideologic biased twit.

31 Oct 2015 00:38:27
"Blues had Halak, Elliot, Miller, Allen. Unless your talking about Price, Quick and maybee a few others. there are not thatmany goalies who are leaps and bounds better than what we have. "

there are many that ARE leaps and bounds better, you have to be joking. miller os the only one there who has been elite, but he was far from that during his time in st louis.

as for goalies that are better, here is the list: andersen, rask, varlamov, bobrovsky (aside from his weird start to this year), luongo, quick, price, rinne, lundqvist, schneider, bishop, and holtby. that's about half the league that are easily better, and there are others that are similar (dubnyk, for example) . please, just for once, admit st. louis isn't the best in the league at something.

31 Oct 2015 20:03:44
Wow I'm sorry to get excited by a break out rookie. Sorry my team doesn't get very many of those unlike 5 first overalls that some teams get. You damage right I'm excited . Yo answer your question I very well informed on the entire league. I just don't understand the push back if he was on Edmonton he would be the second coming of christ I got same response when tarasenko came up and I said he would be great now you know he is.

31 Oct 2015 23:06:44
Now I know Tarasenko is great? Are you kidding me? I was hyping him 2 years before he entered the NHL, you mook. And this fallback "edmonton has so many 1st overall picks" argument. You're deflecting. Its fine to be excited about a prospect/player for your favorite team but you're going above and beyond and just being a douche at this point. I'm being a douche too, but I already know that and everyone here expects that of me anyway and I own up to it. And at least I also have the hockey smarts to back it up. You're sounding like a leafs fan when Jake Gardiner was entering the league. We're all still waiting for that Norris trophy.

Nice, I managed to get a leafs jab in there.

The weirdest part of all this is that we are arguing about a player who we both like and are both fans of. But you threw skewed stats at me like you wanted this argument so I'm not going to back down when I know I'm right and some body is trying to talk down to me. Parayko is doing well. Just enjoy it. Don't step to me like you know me, you know wha I sayin'? Guuuuurl! You do' know me!

01 Nov 2015 16:11:52
I'M SAYING COLTON WILL BE IN RUNNING FOR CALDER. In my opinion if he continues to improve and play as well as he has been he will be elite. Just because he wasn't drafted 1st overall or highly toted. He was a dimond in th rough and the blues stole him in the 3rd round. Great scouting. Only time will tell who is right. I think it's funny you talkn 5th grade smack. shows your age.

01 Nov 2015 22:36:29
Season is still young. He might be, he might not be. He is up against some offensive players. Domi, Duclair, McDavid, Larkin, and Eichel just to name a few. Ask yourself this question: "Is he as good or near as good as Ekbald? " Ekbald played on a terrible Panthers team and was one of the few players to remain a plus player. You have a team that should be doing better.

I understand you have injuries, but you have to accept that. You have the depth, but what you lack is a goalie who can win yah a game when the rest of the team isn't playing good. Bishop addresses that issue. Is it worth it, I don't know, for all we know Parayko isn't going to start sucking. Time will tell. Put your hard on for him away and watch your team and hope he continues to be successful.

02 Nov 2015 00:20:33
The NHL is full of rookie studs that all warrant more consideration then him. Domi, McDavid, Eichel. You won't take it from them.

02 Nov 2015 00:38:25
Would you trade any of those young people you mentioned for bishop domi, duclair, mcdavid, eichel. you wouldn't and blues will not trade colton for him the blues build there teams from within and need the elcs to balance and stay under the cap. I do appreciate your opinions. Only time will tell. Besides we can't afford a 6 mil goalie rather have colt and shatty and backes.

02 Nov 2015 19:23:04
The difference is and it is a big one is that those teams are rebuilding!

03 Nov 2015 03:42:10
What does rebuilding have to do with anything. The reason the blues are so successful is cause they draft well and keep their young players coming in when vets go ufa. We don't have any ridicules contracts and have a very talented team. Blues will not trade a young dman stud more inclined to trade jaybo gunnerson makes more sense so they can give there young players raises. Doesn't make sense to trade anelc stud.

03 Nov 2015 12:34:29
Because rebuilding teams do not trade young players as they will help in the future. Your team isn't rebuilding and keep getting beat at key times because they have mediocre goaltending. To get a a legit #1 goalie you have to give something of value back. Not JBo or Backed either because Tampa is set upfront and on defense. They would welcome Parayko because he is cheaper than what they have and they would welcome the cap space just like you should welcome a #1 goalie. Season is still young and I doubt he keeps the pace he's on going, if he does great. But if McDavid keeps producing at the rate he is Parayko isn't going to touch him for the Calder.

03 Nov 2015 22:57:40
Look i agree the odds are in Mcdavids corner he is a talent like no other. But what i'm saying is if bishop can't win a cup for one of the hisghest scoring offenses then how is he going to do it here. The point i am making is the blues don't go out and make crazy trades we tied with miller failed lost prospects 1st rndr and others. Why do you think we are still winning with shatty, tarasenko, statsny, berglund, and swartz out.

Because we have great depth from our young developed talent. The blues just don't trade them away for rentals or high salaries. The blues wold never bring in a 6 mil goalie iunles it was quick or price, We had Bishop Traded him. Jake ALLen will impress this year he already had .929 sv% 1.89 gaa and a shut out. he is super young.
