EDM- RNH, Fayne
STL- Backes, Parayko
Tried this trade with Shattenkirk and people thought St. Louis wouldn't do it. Again I would hate to lose Nuge but to get big Backes's leadership and a potential big top pairing defends man is what the Oil need. I'm not saying he's there yet and his value is kind of unknown right now but if Parayko keeps it up he and Nurse could be the future of Edmontons defense.

No from Edmonton. Nuge is a proven #1 center. Paryko isn't even 20 games into his cafeer.

since when has nuge proven himself as a #1c? his couple 50 point season don't prove that, sorry.
nonetheless, i still doubt EDM does that because parayko is even less priven and doesn't come with any kind of pedigree, and backes is set to be a ufa at year's end.

Blues would pass. At this point management is high on Parayko since drafting him. He won a full time spot first time out of training camp. His slap shot cracks glass and is accurate. He is 6'5' 230 22 year old kid who currently playing better than most seasoned vets. he leads the league with 5 goals has 5 assists and is a +8 on a severely injured team with 3 gwg most by a rookie. Everyone in the NHL is noticing this kid. Blues will not trade him. Backes on the other hand i'm not sure but it would take more than backes to get RNH. But i really think the blues wouldn't trade their captain during the season when they are playing as weel as they are. You just can't replace a guy like backes. 60 pt guy who checks and is one of the best defensive forwards. don't get me wrong nug is great but we have Lehtra and statsny (when he is healthy) lehtra plays with tarasenko and stats runs other line. Just don't see this happening.1 2 3 talk smack.

backes has 1 60 point season in 7 full years in the league, you really need to stop exaggerating everything. as for parayko, if he's still playing at anywhere near this clip at the 40 game mark of the season, then you can pump his tires, but the praise you are giving him after 14 games is laughable. if the guy was a top 5 pick or something like thatand is coming in with a solid pedigree, then it may be a bit justified, but the guy was a 3rd rounder coming out of pretty much nowhere. calm down a bit.

Yes I forgot to say we'll have to wait a bit to see his value because I'm sure Parayko will slow down. And I didn't realize Backes was a ufa. I don't know if we have much room for him in the lineup but I'd love to sign him. The Oilers need to hit it big and draft themselves a Parayko!

I'm not going g to argue with you any more it clear that parayko is playing outstanding he has most goals of dman is right their with the calder kids. And every analyst is high on this kid. Just because your scouts didn't k ow who this kid was doesn't mean he isn't good. But hey I will be here frequently waiting for you to eat crow.

Parayko is doing quite well. Before tanky gets on his high horse and starts flaunting junk in my face, let's remember that I've been saying that from the beginning. He came out of the gate hot and has remained hot. Is he top-3 consideration for the Calder in my mind right now? Still no.
As far as RNH, his point totals don't tell the proper story but watch him play. He plays a 200ft game as well as any top C in the league. He's not a big guy who will destroy someone into the boards and get the puck that way but his hockey sense is very high and he puts himself in great position all the time to break up plays, plus he is wiley with his stick and can create turnovers one-on-one quite often. True, he's not the biggest guy, but the fact that he is able to do what he does with a smaller frame really speaks to his ability. i'm highly opposed to trading him.
Essentially what I'm getting at is that this trade sucks. For both teams, but mostly for the Oilers.

Fayne is S***, is owed way too much money and RNH is Jori Lehtera with worse vision. But sure, take a perennial Selke-worthy 25/55 power forward and a possible generational defensive talent. Try harder.

I guess it wasn't the greatest deal I was just trying to throw some ideas out there.
And agreed @Chirp Nuge is really good at takeaways and plays a good 200 ft game. He might not put up number 1 center points yet but he can play with the best of them.
And @RussianTank no one isn't saying he isn't playing great but the Norris winners will either play 25+ minutes a night or get 60-70 points. And he won't be able to keep up with the young forwards for this years Calder.

Its funny that you say Colton isn't in the top three for calder right now.
Espn hAS HIM RANKED 4TH IN THE CALDER race. with panarin (1) domi (2) linberg (3) IN FRONT OF HIM.
Colton is playing 21 minutes average per night on a team with Jaybo and petro sucking major minutes. He leads all young guys in toi and +/- +8 3gwg.
Blues will not trade this Kid for anything. We will develop him. Best defenseman value per contract 2 more years of his ELC after this year.

Jori can be physical RNH doesn't do physical. Once again this is were i would rather have Jori (who is better 2way player and is tarasenkos go to center) versus RNH. Not knocking the guy but i like my toys better than yours.
