Just want to here the responses to this trade
Clb:Ryan Johansson+
Tor:Morgan Rilley+
As a base who adds more I'd say Tor adds quite abit sense Johansson is enstablished to his projected role.

no thank you from a leafs fan
im not saying its a bad trade but the leafs need rielly more than they would need johansen.
since they already have nylander and marner coming up i'm not sure they need to worry about getting a #1 center atm
rielly who hopefully can become a #1 dman is more important to the leafs future
but in the sense of making a trade yeah the leafs would be adding so i really don't think it would be worth it for the leafs.

Not trying to be biased here but am I the only one who thinks Rielly > Johansen
He may not be a top 2 D yet or excell at the two way game but he's a exceptional D man early on in his career and will cornerstone the Leafs Blue line for Many years to come, already a top 5 skating Defencemen in the League.

at the momnet, i'd rather have rielly. he's seeming to have a real breakout year. then there's the contract thing where rielly is up this year, but he'll be much easier to negotiate with than johansson because fo the way johansson's last contrct is structured. without getting too far into it, he's pretty much guaranteed a rather significant raise from 6 mil, and he's not worth that with his current play.

He isn't top 5 anything in the league. I agree with what BigZ said though. And Johansen just had a like 80 point season or something so Johansen > Reilly.

Your obviously clueless and need to learn your facts, to start have you watched Rielly more then a few games in his career to say he isn't top 5 for anything or are you busy watching the oilers lose 50 games every year?

Rielly has the same amout of goals and 3 less points this year, as a defencemen, as Johansen and is Younger, cheaper and is a drafted Leaf.

But since your an expert have you watched every other D in the league? I'm sure people would agree with me there's at least 5 D in the league that are better skaters. Rielly must have more value than Crosby then too eh?
And what does being drafted by the leafs have to do with anything? He's worth more because the leafs are gods gift to the world?

lol i love when people make up false stats in an attempt to aid their argument. johanssen had a career high 71 points last year, before that he had 96 points in 189 games, so he doesn't really ahve any track recor, though he is still young and will likely become a consistent 60-70 point player. very good, but not elite. rielly will likely be in the same category, but i'd still rather have rielly for 2 main reasons: first, he's a couple years young, which means a lot when you're talking about development in guys 23 and under. second, the leafs organiztion has pretty much no legit defence prospects, while all they have drafted and acquired recently is forwards.

I said nothing about him being worth Crosby lol I ain't one of those fans that think Polak, Percy, Bernier will get a Duchene and I heard from multiple hockey insiders and I believe them too that he is a fantastic skater and very confident he's top 5 in the League, now don't get on your high horse as i'm not saying he's a top 5 D overall but i'm interested who you think are the top 5 defencemen skaters.

If anything the false statement was saying he's top 5 for skating. I wouldn't know but Karlsson, Letang, Keith are all known as good skaters. Fowler, McDonagh, Subban. Even big Buff is fast or Leddy.
And I said "like 80" points because I wasn't exactly sure. I'm sure everyone can search it up and see 71 points or whatever but that doesn't change my point.
I also agreed with the fact Toronto wouldn't make the trade because Rielly is more important. They have Marner and Nylander coming up.

I actually do believe he is one of the best skaters in the league in regards to defense. I would say in terms of all around skill he is more like top 30 maybe. He is loaded with skill, just need to develop the defensive side of things and he will be a great two way dman.

okay listen Oilers_11 the fact you just said Byfuglien is on the same level of skating of rielly makes you lose all credence, buff is not even close to a top 5 skating dman probs not even top ten
personally i believe rielly is a top 5 skating dman but you could argue Kieth, Karlsson, OEL, Josi and possibly Suter are faster or just as fast so yes I do say rielly is a top 5 skater

doughty, subban and possibly barrie are also quite fast skaters so they are up there aswell.
but i still view rielly as a top 5 skater but ndefintely not a top 5 dman haha.

Ohh man… you just named 5 guys yourself! I'm just saying you don't know he's top 5 and he probably isn't. But that's getting away from the point I was trying to make that Johansen has more value. I'll leave it at that all other stuff aside I think Johansen has more value than Rielly.
But again I also think Toronto declines the trade and I'm not disagreeing Rielly isn't a great skater. That highlight real against Edmonton last year was a beauty!
