this is a awful trade and I am a leafs fan but oilers_11 you are not one to chirp you always have something to say about leafs trades and we'll yours are completely awfull to.

Elliott is a 31yr old backup, Allen is the Blues Starter.
Yes Shattenkirk is better then Gardiner but Bernier has a lot more upside then Elliott does he just needs to be moved.
Chirp can Chirp all he wants this is a good base of a Trade yes I will agree the Leafs may need to add a Prospect like Percy or someone else but to me its a good base to start at.

ARe you high Pinball, Shattenkirk makes gardnier look like a no talent hack. He is not just better but tremendously better like 1st round pick and gardnier better. Elliot has been splitting net time with Halak, Miller, And allen. His numbers are that of a starting goalie. Bernier is horrible.
Blues don't need a 5th round pick.
Blues say no we are win now your trade makes blues worse sorry.

Shattenkirk's a a top 2, gardiner is a top 4 at best, both goalies are backups but Bernier having the higher ceiling he probably has a bit more value that being said your going to have to add a lot more then a 5th to get the Blues to accept this, just being Honest man.

Just as an FYI to you Oilers, Leafs but mostly oiler fans. There are only a few players that Blues will be trading and most likely at trade deadline. They are as follows.
Patrick Berglund
carl gunnarson
Ty Rattie
Chris butler
steve Ott
Scottie Upshall
Scott Gomez
troy Brower
magnus P
They may package those and the following for a top 3 player currently better than the blues have now

That's about it. So if you don't want any of those players and when you want that doesn't mean send 3-5 lesser players for an improvement blues don't need.

I never said they did. I meant a 1st line player or top six that is an upgrade over what we have. I realize depth players are not going to do that. I know the blues are going to be fine when everyone is healthy. i'm just stating who the expendables are. Blues fans are very happy with what we have. We handled all our issues internally with additions of Edmundso, Parayko, Fabbri, and we have some great depth players. Blues are not going to trade anyone unless its gross overpayment or it makes the team better. This posted by the op makes the blues worse in every way.

No offense but most of these trade suggestions are pretty lame. I remeber last year everyone was like were going to offer sheet tarasenko and they won't be able to afford him so trade now for a broken down third liner a second liner a prospect that will never leave AHL and 1st rnd pick. Same crap with Petro and now it s Shattenkirk. who will it be next year.

I don't know why any of us even bother anymore. Pinball clearly has rocks in his head and very very thick rose-colored glasses on. The guy has proven time after time that he doesn't have a clue what a legitimate hockey trade looks like and all that matters to him is that the leafs get everything they/he want (s) . he's lost his marbles. Btw, if anyone finds them, let him know. You'll recognize them because they "bleed blue and white. " LOL!
