04/30/2008 Senators GM Bryan Murray does not want to return as coach after his team was swept from the 1st round of the playoffs. He would like a disciplinarian behind the bench who will clamp down on the club's young players and make them accountable.
04/18/2008 Bryan Murray is staying with the Senators, at least as GM. Murray mentioned he's got the green light from owner Eugene Melnyk to attempt to improve the team in the summer. Speaking before Game 4 last night, Murray also said he was "reluctant" to fire coach John Paddock in February and go behind the bench himself.
04/12/2008 Bryan Murray turned up the heat on his big guns yesterday. The Senators GM/coach shook up his lineup, moving Martin Lapointe back to the top line with Jason Spezza and Dany Heatley, then called on the club's top 2 forwards to pick up the pace.
04/09/2008 The puck has not even dropped in their 1st round playoff series and Senators coach and GM Bryan Murray has already called out the Penguins for unsportsmanlike conduct. 04/09/2008 Penguins center Sidney Crosby expects to be a target for the Senators when the 2 teams open the Stanley Cup playoffs tonight. What he did not think was that columnist Don Brennan of the would take out a veritable bounty on the high right ankle sprain that sidelined him for 23 games.
04/08/2008 No Sidney Crosby, not much effort. The Penguins paid the Flyers a huge compliment yesterday. They made it embarrassingly clear that they preferred to face the Senators in the 1st round of the playoffs.
03/14/2008 Bryan Murray has heard a lot of criticism directed toward Martin Gerber, however it will not dissuade him from turning to the goalie and in the end putting an end to the Ottawa Senators' season long goaltending debate. Gerber will be back in net tonight when the Senators meet the Canadiens in a key Northeast Division battle.
03/13/2008 Whilst coach Claude Julien had held out hope that Zdeno Chara might make it to Scotiabank Place for the Bruins' divisional matchup with the Senators, the decision was made to keep him in Boston to continue to rest what is being termed as an "upper torso injury".
