05/16/2008 Wayne Gretzky quieted talk yesterday about The Great One leaving Phoenix to become president of the Maple Leafs. "I am the coach of the Coyotes and part owner, as much as I love Canada and the Maple Leafs, I have no interest in selling my stakes and leaving the Coyotes", Gretzky mentioned in an email.

Gretzky, who has pulled off a surprise of his own by getting the ragtag Coyotes close to a playoff spot in the Western Conference, mentioned the power play was a surprise because the Canadiens' coaching staff is composed of players who were best-known for their defensive skills.
