Malkin is a penguin for life. Jarry might be the next starter and currently has the best goalie stats of any NHL goalie. He is young and improving. There is zero chance Pittsburgh trades him . Zero. Price is not leaving Montreal with that contract.

In reference to HockeyFanatic's question, my trade proposal would provide Habs with a no.1 center for the next 4 years. As a result, Habs chances of making playoffs and advancing beyond first round will increase considerably. Malkin should deliver between 70-80 pts a season here. He is still a dominant center. Habs fans in MTL have been aching for management to acquire a bonafide proven no.1 center for decades now. Malkin would fill that need nicely for the next 4 seasons.
