Montreal- Kotekneimi

Colorado has probably the deepest blue line in the NHL and Kotekneimi has been struggling this season and LHD is Montreal's weakness.

Kotkaniemi isn’t doing well because Montreal is using him wrong. If they can’t give him a role in the top 6 then they should put him in the AHL where he can develop properly. Giving him sheltered minutes on the third line and having him focus on defense and shutting down the other team doesn’t seem like the best use of a 3rd overall pick.

Anyway, KK is out with a concussion now after Zadorov destroyed him with a hit. So I don’t think he will be going anywhere right now.

KK isn't anywhere close to Byram in value. Montreal would need to add here.

Kk did struggle this year before the injury but Byram isn't exactly lighting it up in junior this year either. So I think it's fair to say that it's possible neither team considers this.

Col says no to this. They might make Girard + 1st available for Hall because they have Byram coming up. And it’s a rumor they don’t want to include Byram in a deal for Hall so I doubt they trade him for KK. I think they value him more, and will not trade him.

Byram is not looking like a #1 defensemen, more like a solid top4. KK is looking like a 70 point center once he is in his prime.
