I know I'll get some backlash from the few keyboard GM's who think they are smart on this but I don't really care.

Ott : pageau

Veg : 2020 1st, conditional 3rd (if Vegas makes it to conference finals)

Ott : namesnikov, demelo, ennis, chlapic

Ari : 2020 1st

Ott : zaitsev, paul, Borowieski

Wpg : 2020 2nd

Pageau as previously proven is being rumored for real to be worth at least a 1st and a prospect, given the fact he is versitile enough to play any forward position and in any situation plus is a well known playoff performer who's not afraid to get in the dirty areas and is having a career year with 23 points in 31 games thus far.

Demelo is a responsibe middle 4 defense who could likely fetch at least a 3rd on his own, while like pageau, both namesnikov and ennis are both versitile enough to play in any situation at any position and are both putting up career high numbers at 16 in 26 and 15 in 31 respectably. Namesnikov it's safe to say has upped his value since New York trade by at least double making him worth at least a late 2nd and ennis likely worth a mid to late 3rd, and chlapic is an NHL ready prospect with a solid upside worth at least a mid to late 2nd, all together a late 1st like Arizona's is not unheard of.

Winnipeg needs defense experience with the losses of the likes of trouba Myers and Byfuglien as of late to help their younger guys progress, and likes the bigger power forward types like paul, could also use some toughness to look out for its stars and isn't afraid to throw the body around. For a 2nd for all 3 is more than reasonable for both teams.

Ottawa should be looking to load up on picks this year and hope the deep draft works in their favour. And giving current rosters no team should be worried if Ottawa has multiple picks in round 1 unless the impossible happens and all the teams they have the picks of completely fall apart giving Ottawa 4 lotto picks lol not very likely. Also with the acquired picks here they would have the bait a draft time to move up as well if needed.

Too much cap $ for the Jets to take on.

Ennis doesn't play any position tho, he's just a 30 year old winger.

Pageau for a 1st is close but I think it’s a bit of a stretch. Could definitely happen but just remember Kane only got a conditional 1st + in his trade a couple seasons ago.

The other two are unlikely. Arizona’s window is just opening they don’t need to trade a 1st for parts.

Blech from Winnipeg. The Jets don't have any pressing need for bad defensemen, cap dump defensemen or bad forwards.

So trading those 8 players, does that mean Ottawa's tanking? Also, does this put them under cap minimum?

I'm not sure if Winnipeg or Arizona have room for the contracts, or the cap, or are looking to push in this year. Also, zaitsev doesn't bring in enough to Winnipeg to justify his cap.

Pageau for a conditional first would be good though. Turns to a2nd if they don't make it past first round?

no team is going to be in a position to take on 4 contracts and return only a pick.

or 3 contracts and return only a pick

lumping together a bunch of guys who on their own get a 3rd or a 4th pick doesn't mean you add together to get a 1st, it means you get 3 3rds.

i like how you preemptively come out with an armchair gm comment and then proceed to list off a bunch of crap not even a bad arm chair gm sens fan would agree with let alone a real nhl gm.

JP will get a 1rst at the deadline that part is accepted. The rest not so much. So decent pieces but the sum of parts dknt add up.

Trading out 8 players and bringing in o ly one. So you don’t have a 23 man roster after this unless you bring up a bunch of kids from the minor leagues. And how does this affect the team’s ability to meet the requirements for the expansion draft next year?
