Horrible trade for the Jets. Backland is a 31 yer old $5.5 mil per on the decline, Valimaki is 21 who has yet to crack the Flames lineup on a full time bases and Pelletier is 5'9" who hasn't played a game in the NHL. The Jets don't need prospects that badly.

memarcus. i have to assume that "by start with" means "only for" because your not getting anything on top of that for a player of similar age/ production.

how many pure hockey trades are there really, if laine gets traded it will more than likely be a package of prospects and picks then straight across for another high ceiling player.

Valimaki hasn’t cracked the NHL roster??? Buddy he’s been injured lmao, he cracked a roster spot before his injury, and was one of their better defensemen. Pelletier is one of the better prospects in the QMJHL with a similar style to Tkachuk. I agree that this is probably not close to enough but do your research before typing. If it were Monahan for Laine swap then your 2 centres would be
