The problem with this trade is that Winnipeg needs help on defence right now and likely a centre to round out their top 6. Now maybe with the cap space they get in this deal they can possibly sign a couple of guys in free agency, such as Brodie or maybe even a guy like Krug, but again you can never be sure about that.

Because you're overvaluing picks Jaxon. The Jets aren't going to trade an excellent young player on a great contract for a pick. They're not rebuilding.

Not really overvaluation of the pick. Top 5 pick in most drafts is high price but in this especially it’s a high price because 1 really good prospect will be there. Ehlers is a good 60 point winger that is on a good contract. But it would be better for Jets to trade him for a 2C or a top 4 D.
