The only way a Laine deal gets done is if the Jets get three main pieces in return: proven top 6 F or top 4 D, top prospect/ young rookie and a first round pick. Here are my proposals:

MTL: Suzuki, Domi, 1st around Pick 2020
WPG: Laine

Or

NYI: Dobson, Nelson, 1st Round Pick 2021
WPG: Laine

Or

NJ: Severson, Zacha, 1st Round Pick 2020
WPG: Laine

Or the one exception could be LA:

LA: 2nd Overall Pick 2020, Kaliyev
WPG: Laine, 3rd Round 2021

Thoughts???

Habs definitely decline.

I think if you change that to Domi + Kulak + Poehling + 2021 1st round pick for Liane. Bergevin already said he will not trade Suzuki, KK or Romanov.

The Jets don't want to trade either Ehlers or Laine so give it a rest already.

Habs say no, they’re not deep in center to trade away arguably their best young center. NyI says no, they’re a defensive team and boychuk is getting older, Dobson is more valuable to them than liane would be, liane wouldn’t fit their system at all. Barzal could put up way more points if they played more offensive game but they aren’t coached/ built for that style. Kings say no, they’re rebuilding and if they draft stuzle or byfield they’re getting a very good prospect with contract controllability (if that’s a word) .

Domi with his contract situation makes the first one a no from Winnipeg.

Nelson being 29 would make him a no go in that deal.

Zacha is unneeded by Winnipeg, so that makes that deal a no.

I don't see the Jets trading Laine for a single pick, so I think that would rule that one out.

If I’m GM of each of those teams, I consider it in New Jersey, but they pick 7th and I’d be reluctant. That’s about it though. Others are No’s.

Makes no sense for habs to trade a center for a winger

@ bruhtrades
1 Domi has a Ppg of 0.64 Ehlers who is apparently a top line winger has a ppg of 0.66 so in an 82 game season that’s a difference of 3 points not to take into account that Ehlers has played on higher scoring teams than Domi during there whole career. So I’d say he’s a top 6 C/ W
2 Winnipeg has no potential top 6 C prospect and most scouts and analysts predict Poehling to become a well rounded top 6 C
3 Kulak has good value as a 4-5 D and with Winnipeg not having many proven NHL D on there roster and not many free agency plus with a small cap hit he could be a nice sweetener
4 Habs bet on themselves to be better similar to how Vancouver did with the Miller trade

The only player to not have good value in this is Kulak and he is more a sweetener for a position that Winnipeg is short on and Habs have an abundance of.
